The GOP’s Big Bill Is Massively Unpopular — If People Actually Know About It. One survey found that almost half the electorate hasn’t heard anything about Trump’s signature policy.

  1. But apprarently the Dems’ chief enemy is progressive candidates, not Trump, so this will not get much airtime.

  2. I always thought america would die in some giant war, not at the hands of the wilfully ignorant and real life nazis

  3. Unpopularity doesn’t seem to matter when you’re playing power games instead of listening to constituents.

  4. Some people choose to be uninformed. They live in their own little bubble, oblivious to the suffering of others.

  5. It’s not as if Trump and his cronies aren’t on TV all day calling it this “Big Beautiful Bill” (BBB) when it should be the “Big Bloated Crap” (BBC) that is coming to just f the poor over.

I guess ignorance is bliss? /s

  6. Sounds about right given that 1/3 didn’t give two fucks about US election

  7. Unfortunately, most people don’t care enough about politics to actually look into any of these laws.

  8. I was talking about it at work and 2 of my managers had no idea about it

  9. Faux News was very selective in what it shared from the bill.

Viewers I spoke to were quoting trump’s lies about the bill, including no taxes on SS payments & how it doesnt effect medicare/medicaid.

Propaganda os going to destroy everything we hold dear.

  10. Huh shocker that the uneducated and uninformed percent is just about the same number as the maga percent. Weird must be a coincidence.

  11. Some people are just oblivious but some are misinformed. Fox News (the propaganda machine) doesn’t put Trump or his agenda in a negative way. When the bill starts screwing the MAGA they will just blame the democrats.

  12. That’s because the ones who truly need to know are all glued to Fox News which will never give them any facts about it.

  13. As always, the low information voters are the downfall.

There is a very real reason that the Republican Party has been extremely involved in gutting education at all levels and denigrating academia (while still ensuring that the highest quality elite options are available to their own children).

People could, of course, continue to read, to learn, to think critically, in spite of what republicans offer them. Those who vote Republican choose not to and the country has suffered horribly for it.

  14. Most of the electorate is apparently so fucking stupid that they shouldn’t be able to vote. It’s like putting a toddler behind the wheel of a car, they have no idea how to use it responsibly.

I hate that there’s no ethical way to institute some kind of “voting license” where you have to prove you actually learned about civics in school and have some understanding of what it is you’re voting for. Any idiot can fill out a ballot. Democracy cannot work as intended if the people participating in it are just voting for vibes rather than distinct policies. Which is not to say the policies aren’t there, just that people aren’t considering them when they vote.

  15. The same people who haven’t heard anything about this bill are the same airheads that gave us Trump.

  16. Unironically, if the dems just started going on any media they could and screaming “the republican party is full of subhuman demons who hate you and want you dead, this bill is going to help them”

    That would actually be effective

  17. Half the country would rather be concerned with made up celebrity reality TV than the actual world around them.

  18. Which is exactly how we got here in the first place.

  19. Most of the country doesn’t pay any attention to what’s happening beyond their own individual lives.

This is why control of power in this country goes back and forth, almost election to election. People don’t pay attention but are constantly upset about the government and correlate the problems in their life to whoever has held office most recently.

  20. They’ll find out when they’re hungry without SNAP and dying without Medicaid. But ya know, brown people bad, ICE good, Trump king, suck his boot

  21. This is how democracy dies. It is our responsibility to be informed. We don’t deserve to keep our freedom if we aren’t responsible enough to pay attention to what they are doing. Sad for America.

  22. This is where I’ll fault the Dems.  They should have been beating the drum on every Sunday news show, every podcast, every social media account about how dogshit this bill was and what it would do to the country.  I only knew about it because I’m a glutton for political news, but the average person is tuned out and you gotta go find them and tell them.

  23. The problem is they don’t want to know. For an anti socialist group MAGA just wants to have a dictator take care of them. All they want is a DADDY! The first time I heard one of them call Trump a “Daddy “ I could have puked

  24. They will… and they will hear it was Clinton, Obama, Clinton, and Biden that wrote it and enforced it through the Deep State.

70% of the voting age people in this country are not informed by reality.

  25. My boss literally said ‘ive been reading the bill and I think everyone’s freaking out about nothing, I’ve seen nothing about people losing Medicare’

Like these people are actively choosing to ignore reality in order to support the bill so of course when confronted with reality they change their tone

  26. I really don’t care anymore. Maybe 16 million losing their benefits will be enough to swing the elections the other way. Either by motivating them or them dying.

  27. They’ve strategically placed the worst parts of it behind the next two elections ensuring that democrats get blamed for it.

  28. It always surprises me how unaware people are about Poltics. People love to complain but never wanna learn

  29. Remember how Kamala “had no platform” despite it being posted on her website? Or how Google searches for “what is a tariff” spiked after Trump won? Or any of the other million issues conservatives brazenly lie about with no consequence?

It’s the same shit every time. Most voters don’t care to educate themselves and decide based on whatever they happen to overhear online. This is not a surprise.

  30. Honest question – why doesn’t some PAC run TV ads about it? Around election time everyone agrees that’s the best way to get otherwise uninformed people to be aware… Why doesn’t a fraction of the money get spent on awareness of just how bad this stuff is?

  31. All that money Dems fundraised during the election and they can’t run marketing or propaganda against Trump during his Presidency?

There’s No opposition party in America it’s Corporatists vs Oligarchs and the politicians try to fill their pockets from either while waiting for things to get worse so they can try and swoop in to monetize the opposition.
