When they have no councillors come may he won’t be long for the job.
>There is a war on’: Tory MPs using Ukraine invasion to defend law-breaking prime minister
Have you not heard? Johnson has personally been on the front line and single handedly saving Kyiv from Putins shock army.
If you question this Narrative put out by the Tories and the British media ……..you obviously hate Britain.
I can think of no greater scandal of the Boris Johnson era than his own supporters admitting that he’s put together a cabinet of such hopeless sycophants and bottom-feeders that it’s incapable of continuing to lead the country if the PM is out of action for any reason.
War! Huh! Good God y’all! What is it good for?
…Excusing this country’s blatant kleptocracy, apparently.
France is holding a fucking election.
Just fuckoff you cowardly cunts
I don’t see the May elections as being a total wipe out. Significant gains for Labour and the Lib Dems, but not a complete disaster for the Tories.
Michael Fabricant voiced what I would suspect many Tory supporters think, that everybody was breaking lockdown rules anyway, so what’s the big deal?
Some couldn’t care less, probably the same who complained on the forums about over stringent lockdown rules, which at heart really meant “I want to do what I want and I don’t care if other people die”
Churchill came during war far greater than this. France is stronger than us by managing to hold a full election right now.
If not now then when. You cannot trust Boris to do his job and he has ran the country into the ground for too long.
The backbenchers were only threatening to Vote of No Confidence the last time as a means to get Boris to remove Covid restrictions. Now Boris is pretending Covid is done and finished they’ve no reason for them to kick up a fuss anymore.
It’s incredibly telling that the Tory machine now clambers to manufacture a narrative shield from criticism, rather than doing anything at all to address the concern of their constituents. They’re slowly morphing into the GOP, a party that only cares about self preservation and has totally forgotten that it’s meant to represent people.
I think it’s the artifice that offense me the most. No one actually believes that Boris shouldn’t go because of Ukraine. They’ve sat down in meetings and agreed on that that’s a line that will distract people. They spent their time doing that, rather than thinking about resignations and sackings, and making things right. “How do we save the party” before “how can we make this right?”. I’m scared for the future of UK politics.
First sitting Prime Minister charged with an offence and he has the gall to sit behind a shield of “there’s a war on”.
Are we just going to scrap the next general election then? Cause it won’t be done with Ukraine back to 2021 level by then.
Read this somewhere as a comment, puts it nicely i think:
>For the record the UK changed PM:
>Four times in the war in Afghanistan
>Once in the Iraq War
>Once in the Gulf War
>Once in the Korean War
>Twice in the Second World War
>Once in the First World War
>Once in the Second Boer War
>Once in the Second Opium War
>Once in the Crimean War
>Twice in the Peninsular War
Johnson is not focused enough, he is rolling from one disaster onto the next. What we need now is a leader who is focused and less self serving. Sorry to say this will have to be a Conservative (for the time being). If a Prime Minister was to die suddenly another MP would step up, so why not force the self serving to step down. The world is going to shit and he is not up to the task.
Dear Torys
Please give me the last date in history when there wasn’t an on-going war.
Best
(P.S. Bonus points if you can name one where Britain/England/UK wasn’t involved, or was the cause of directly/indirectly)
Ah I see, so as long as a war is going on all criticism of politicians are void. Well that wipes out about 99% of British political history.
“There’s a war on” only tends to refer to when _your_ country is at war. This is a war that’s been going on since 2014.
Guess we are stuck with Boris till the war in Ukraine ends. Or if any other conflict crops up in the world before then, till that ends.
Couldn’t possibly change PMs even if another party wins an election before Ukraine is sorted.
Seriously though where does this end? Ush the elction back to 2025/6? Emergency powers to deal with the Ukraine conflict. It’s straight out of the dictators play book.
Putin would be proud.
If the war was on our fucking soil, let alone on the opposite side of the continent, this would be a shit excuse.
Sorry, who are we at war with? I must have missed something.
So we as a country can vote in a New Prime Minister when we were actively involved the in largest war the world had ever seen but we can’t get rid Boris now because there is a war going on that we are not part of…
Did I get that right?
This excuse is pathetic, considering we went from Chamberlain to Churchill in the middle of a world war.
The argument just falls flat here.
“there is a war on” would make sense if WE were actually at war, last time I checked it was Ukraine alone vs Russia and Allies?
Can we please develop some distractions for the daily Mail to print tomorrow.
“Don’t they know the kettle has been left on”
Pretty alarming that the Tories are now giving Vladimir Putin a direct veto over when we can and can’t change prime minister. All that money Putin invested in making Brexit happen was well spent.
Where Johnson is merely providing weapons to Ukraine, sending troops to NATO countries and sanctioning Russia. A new PM could easily do the same without issue. It is not like Johnson is personally leading troops on the battlefield, he is perfectly replaceable in his current position.
We are not at war .When we were at war during World War 1 we changed the Prime Minister When we were at war during World War 2 we changed the Prime Minister. Mendacious Tory cunt.
There IS a war on. We just arent a direct part of it.
So sick of these wankers.
A war that they’ve done next to nothing to help with… we can still get mad about other things as well as the war.
They’re trying so hard to keep him in office.
Tories only protect tories until it’s serves them better to sacrifice one of their own. That and they are probably spending more time, cash and effort on finding a way to blame it on Labour.
The way the Tory media are playing this, you would think the fat scruffy cunt was on the front line leading charges against the Russians!!
Just remind me how many refugees has the UK taken?????
We are not actually at war with anyone for once. We would be better off having a general election. The whole cabinet should resign. Pretty much every single one of them has lied to parliament.
Then there’s all the coke traces in the HoC bathrooms before we even start on all the financial corruption.
There’s always a fucking war on somewhere isn’t there, not like British troops are storming the fucking Black Sea beaches is it. Bunch of entitled spineless elitist fucking cowards
Jesus Christ, if we can change PM’s in the two world wars we were *actually* involved in, then this prick can easily fuck off because we’re involved in logistics for a country involved in a NATO proxy war. Is he personally flying the fucking cargo planes?
It’s not like Blair fucked off and left Brown in charge when we actually had boots on the ground in Iraq… is it?
He’s saying this because I don’t think there’s a PMQs tomorrow maybe due to Easter period but I could be wrong. Not seen it in tomorrows tv planner which makes sense with Keir Starmer wanting parliament/PMQs to be called back in.
I cannot wait to see the back of boris and his clown government
Yes, yes there is. All the more reason not to have a lying law breaking prime minister.
:Jenrick, Williamson, Grayling now the equally appalling Dorries-you can judge a PM by the company he keeps
weak people with weak excuses. They are being punished for things they did BEFORE Russia invaded Ukraine and to use a war that the UK isn’t even directly fighting in as an excuse to avoid accountability tells you everything you need to know about these spineless rats
I was of this sentiment last month when it wasn’t clear where things were heading. If a bunch of Russian affiliated nations started pouring troops in to Ukraine and world war broke out then this reasoning kind of made sense. A world war is a bad time to have a leadership race in a Tory government.
But by all accounts that is not the trajectory we’re currently on.
Johnson must resign.
There is ALWAYS a war on somewhere in the world.
We changed Prime Ministers during WWII
France is holding a general election *right now*
Anyone who says “now is not the time” can just fuck right off.
I thought that, officially speaking, NATO was not ‘at war’ with Russia? UK is part of NATO, correct? So, by the alliance’s – and thus the UK, as the mantra ‘where one goes, all go’ – Johnson is not technically a ‘wartime leader’ and just the PM in business as usually, though in an increasingly precarious geopolitical climate. So, if we’re not at war then why are they saying we are as an excuse? I’m kinda disappointed someone in NATO hasn’t called out the government on this strategy and its potential to make already dire situation worse for Ukraine?

“Don’t they know there’s a war on” was literally the [Daily Mail’s front page today](https://www.tomorrowspapers.co.uk/daily-mail-front-page-2022-04-13/). One of the most pathetic headlines I’ve ever seen excusing the PM from breaking the law in Covid.
