How you guys feeling? A thumbs up from Shaun Conn’s mother as she and the rest of the family breathe a sigh of relief after the music mogul was found not guilty of sex trafficking and rakateeering. The jury in New York convicting Combmes on prostitution related charges, finding him guilty of flying people across state lines, including girlfriends and paid male sex workers to engage in sexual encounters. It follows weeks of disturbing testimony, including from singer and former girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Her lawyer says she paved the way for Wednesday’s verdict.
We’re we’re pleased that he that he’s finally been held responsible for two federal crimes, something that he’s never uh faced in his life. He still faces substantial jail time. Of course, we would uh have liked to have seen a conviction on the sex crimes in Rico, but we understand beyond a reasonable doubt is a high standard. Diddy reportedly turned to his supporters in court as the verdict was delivered, telling them, “I’ll be home soon.” He then knelt in front of his chair as his family cheered. Prosecutors had painted Combmes as the head of a decadesl long criminal enterprise, accusing him of using fame, money, and violence to pressure girlfriends into wild dayslong sex parties or freakoffs. The defense argued everything was consensual and amounted to nothing more than a swinger’s lifestyle. The verdict does represent a partial victory for Diddy, who was always denied any wrongdoing.
Absolutely a win. Uh the defense took a really big gamble going to trial on this case. Really, anytime that a defendant chooses to go to trial against the federal government, it’s a it’s a big gamble. Um they have a lot in their favor and and it it really paid off for Combmes. Comb’s defense lawyer had requested that the rapper be released on bail following the verdict, but the judge has since denied that bid. Comb’s charges carry up to 20 years behind bars.
