As a gay man I still feel judged and am hesitant to correct people when they assume I’m into women unless I feel really comfortable. This incident has only made it harder, never in a million years did I think such barbaric acts would occur so close to where I live..

Thanks Ryan, glad to know that finally after a 2 minute sermon on the late late, homophobia is over! 🥰
This has no more to do with homophobia than proper tool handling has to do with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Homophobia is such a small part of why Sligo happened.
But ye might be a little bit racist to talk of the main issue so lets take the easy ‘non Rochdale’ route.
It’s strange the parts they chose not to focus on in the media. if it is confirmed to be motivated by Islamic extremist/terror will they update sermons/monologues like this?
This is a matter which will later be heard in a court. A jury will have to be chosen for that court, and they will be asked a variety of questions about their knowledge of the case and anything else that might influence them as regards the case. Should it really be mentioned like this on our national broadcaster at prime time on Friday night, surely this is influencing any potential jury member that might see it.?? If I was called to do jury duty, I would say I had seen this and been influenced against the defendant.
It’s sad that people haven’t moved on
I think this is a great speech
Oh thanks rte I thought there was room for it here have 200m a year
But there are numerous places for homophobia around the world and their people are coming to Europe including Ireland.
What does this mean exactly ? Would you screen immigrants for homophobic views or keep things as they are. If there was a country where 90%+ people surveyed had homophobic views would Ireland change its policy towards immigration from that country or not ? I guess everyone can agree on the sentiment but what does this mean in practice
