The peloton heads west toward the English Channel on Sunday, July 6 for Stage 2 of the 2025 Tour de France, a 212-kilometer trek from Lauwin-Planque to Boulogne-sur-Mer that could prove trickier than its flat profile suggests.

Jasper Philipsen won the yellow jersey after winning Stage 1 of the Tour de France.

Stage 2 introduces new variables—most notably, the potential for crosswinds near the coast. With over 200 kilometers to cover, team positioning will be crucial in the final 50 kilometers. Sprinters and classics specialists will look to capitalize on the stage’s rolling terrain and technical finish into Boulogne-sur-Mer.

Expect the course to reward those who can power through undulating terrain at high speed. Boulogne-sur-Mer, a historic coastal town with cycling heritage, last hosted a stage finish in 2012, when Peter Sagan took a memorable win.
