The Wall Street Journal reported that five sheikhs from Hebron sent a letter to Economy Minister Nir Barkat expressing their desire to break away from the Palestinian Authority, join the Abraham Accords and recognize Israel as a Jewish state. According to the report, the sheikhs have met with Minister Barkat more than 12 times since February and asked him to present the letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
