Murder in Nowe. A 41-year-old man is dead. Police have detained ten people.

On Sunday, 6 July, at 2:15 a.m., the duty officer at the Świecie police station received a report that a man had been stabbed in Nowe.

Patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene. The responding police officers preliminarily determined that a dispute had broken out between a group of men in one of the establishments and a group of men passing by, which then escalated into a fight that spilled outside the establishment. During the fight, one of the participants was stabbed with a sharp object, while two others, aged 32 and 34, suffered minor injuries. Unfortunately, the life of the 41-year-old resident of the Świecie district could not be saved, according to Joanna Tarkowska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Świecie.

As it turns out, the police officers who arrived at the scene noticed a car driving away with the participants of the fight inside. A chase ensued.

The driver of the vehicle did not comply with the light and sound signals ordering him to stop. In the village of Zdrojewo (Nowe municipality), while attempting to stop, the driver of the Hyundai tried to push the police car off the road, causing a collision. As a result, the police stopped the vehicle. Four men ran out of it. Despite attempts to continue their escape on foot, the police detained the men, aged between 21 and 45. All those detained were intoxicated, reports Commander Tarkowska.

Another patrol detained a 29-year-old man suspected of murder at one of the hotels. He is a Colombian citizen. A total of ten people were detained, including five Colombians.

Investigations are still ongoing at the scene. Forensic technicians are examining the crime scene and securing evidence.
