Women’s EUROs: Switzerland vs Iceland underway

The second 45 minutes are underway!

After a very stop-start first-half, both sides go in scoreless at the break.

Switzerland thought they had opened the scoring with a headed own-goal from Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir but it was ruled out following a VAR review which deemed there was a foul on the corner.

Very little action in the opening 25 minutes as both teams have approached this must-win game with caution.

Incredible. Despite taking an early lead, Norway were on the backfoot for large parts of that game.

However, when you have players like Caroline Graham Hansen, you always have a chance, and so it proved.

It’s desperately unlucky for Finland, but the Norwegians are the winners and can now make plans for the quarter-finals.

We’re into four minutes of added time now. Norway are so close, and Finland might not believe how this has turned out.

GOAL! NORWAY HAVE STOLEN IT!

To the surprise of no one, it is Hansen who has done it for Norway.

The Barcelona superstar jinks her way past a few defenders before seeing her cross float into the top corner off the bar.

Hansen, again, is the provider, and her cross is met with an overhead kick from Guro Reiten.

The Chelsea star’s brilliant effort is equaled by a brilliant save from Anna Koivunen.

Norway could still win this.

Caroline Graham Hansen has been the standout for Norway, and she almost gets away from Joanna Tynnila on the edge of the box, but the Finnish defender is up to the task.

It’s been a mightily impressive showing from Finland against a star-studded Norway side, who look anything but right now.

Norway haven’t had an effort on goal since the 37th minute.

They’d take a point right now, needless to say.

The Finns have been the better side here, but Norway are proving a tough nut to crack.

Oh so close for Finland. Eveliina Summanen finds some space on the edge of the box, and sidefoots a brilliant shot that looked to be heading into the net before bouncing off the post.

Norway have tightened up a bit to start this half – they were far too easy to play through in the first half.

With a goal like that, it’s no wonder she’s smiling.

What a 45! Norway took the lead inside three minutes but are doing well to be level at the break.

Finland have been the better side, but it’s all to play for.

This game had serious potential, and it’s more than lived up to it.

And you can’t say it isn’t mostly deserved!

Oona Sevenius is the scorer, and what a fine goal it is. She goes through on goal and finishes into the top corner in some style.

And just like that, Norway almost get a second against the run of play.

The Finns have had 65% possession, which tells you everything about the flow of the game since that early goal.

Finland have got back into this, and are starting to really trouble Norway.

Captain Linda Sällström has had their best chance, being denied brilliantly by Cecile Fiskerstrand when in on goal.
