I found the right friends who helped me develop empathy so I’ve actually become a lot more liberal as I’ve gotten older. Teenage me didn’t support gay marriage, probably wouldn’t have supported ytans rights and I definitely threw out the word “gay” as a pejorative whenever I could.

Let’s be honest at this point this statement needs to be revised to “The richer you get the more conservative you get and at the same time the dumber you are the more pro- authoritarian you are.”

My father and step mother told us (wife and I) that I was absolutely going to be conservative when I had a kid. My wife was pregnant at the time. They were so hopeful that when the kid came, they’d finally get their wish for me to not be liberal and I’d see the world in their simple way.
My son is 3 now. I’m 42. I’ve definitely changed. Moved further to the left. They’re baffled.

The older I get the more left i go. I was a registered republican at age 18. Now a proud democrat and going further left every year. Id prefer a party that is a little more left leaning than democrats but they are our best shot right now at stopping extreme right policies from taking hold forever. I know dems arent perfect but they arent taking women’s rights and attempting to have a king. Some Republicans are cheering on the thought of trump having a 3rd term. The most Unamerican party is the current Republican party. Period. The cult attacked the capital building and its police officers bc they were mad they lost an election. Trumps own supporters tried to kill him and did kill democrat law makers recently. Maga is unhinged. We have to stop this madness. They are kidnapping and deporting legal citizens. Its insane how many “conservatives” and “christians” are okay with this. Jesus would be so proud of them helping the needy
