This is a parody, right? (Insert meme of Padme looking at Anakin)

This is mental.
> Charles currently takes work breaks every six months for two weeks at a time, and said he heard about micro-retirements from a friend. “I reward myself by traveling to different countries. Whether it’s Europe during the summer or other destinations, and so that’s a way that I incentivize myself to reach certain KPIs,” says Charles.
Help me: is this article satirical? Is it some sort of The Onion?
What the everloving fuck?
This should be in r/USvsEU
This surely cannot be real
The best part is that these micro retirements are unpaid
I still have 2 months of vacation open that i should take sooner rather than later
This savage shit is reaching us too. So many spineless suckups afraid to take days off and even go home at the agreed time in the contract
And then they say “the Japanese…”
Imagine the whole country not going on strike and rioting for getting that little holiday.
If you tell an American the country needs mandatory paid vacations they’ll say you can’t force corporations and that it depends on the job you have.
But the reality is that because vacations are not the norm, even if the company offers two or three weeks of paid time off, workers won’t take them because they’re afraid of being accused of being lazy or not care enough about the company.
That’s why it’s so important that we Europeans don’t give a single centimetre to businesses and corporations. They don’t care about us, they would have us working 7 days a week if we’d allow them.
No wonder ‘Muricans love drugs.
What the actual fuck??? I thought most jobs in the US gave 2 weeks of vacation time (which is still way too fucking little vacation time). Is this micro-retirement just quitting the job for a week and then hopping back on, I guess employers over here are desperate I do see that as a possibility but this is really fucking pathetic (great way of showing how fucked my country is though right now).
no wonder r/antiwork exists holy shit

I have a month of vacation every year. It sucks to suck.
Every 12 to 18 months? Are you kidding me?
I take a paid “micro retirement” every 3 months or something.
Micro-what?
More like ameritards
I’m halfway into a 5 week vacation and I’m already pissed it’s not longer.
I do this two times a year, not counting my summer vacation
‘Vacation’ is a disgusting American word. Get it out of your mouth.
Between that and unpaid parental leave it’s not for nothing that they’re seen as a country of corporate boot lickers.
Pure propaganda. I am not fond of yanks but there are still people on that land. And they are fed propaganda. The news changes the meaning of words so that they forget what they had (even if admittedly it was not that great)

Quelle tristesse…
The Yanks truly are a different species altogether…
Fucking morons, 1 or 2 weeks every 12 to 18 months.
I would be working surrounded by corpses if I was restricted to that amount of holiday
