The comments about teachers and nurses was absolutely disgraceful, but sadly, I don’t expect any better from our MPs anymore.
They make the rules, assume people to break them (because they do) and then claim how unfair it is that they’re held to a higher standard (even though their fines are minuscule and they keep their jobs).
It happened, but only one person was responsible and we fired her!
It happened, but everyone else was doing it!
These comments are disgraceful in quite a few ways:
* deflecting the blame to a different group – just because others *may* have broken the rules doesn’t get you out of receiving valid criticism
* slandering arguably the two groups of people who go above and beyond in their line of work, who also have to fight tooth and nail for anything these days
* *”I got told by three people about them having drinks after work”* so that obviously means everyone who is a teacher or a nurse was doing it throughout lockdown… way to generalise
He appears to have be re-fabricanted in a slightly different shade.
I watched this interview yesterday. I am a teacher and my wife is a nurse so we were understandably pissed off as well as pissing ourselves laughing at his wig. I have never hated a group of people before but now hate Tories. It depresses me how they cannot accept fault but shift the blame.
Can’t help but think poorly of Fabricant’s constituents in Lichfield, who have returned this absolute buffoon to the House for every GE since 1992.

It’s almost like… _he’s fabricating something…_
What I found strange about this (apart from Fabricant himself) was he was arguing it was ok because it didn’t spread covid anymore. Because they had already been in Downing Street together.
Even though pubs were closed early or restricted and music wasn’t allowed because it spread the virus more
If they thought it was OK for people to do that, why didn’t they write that into the regulations?
Why does this person look like they’re playing Johnson in a cheap sketch?
I got a speeding ticket, 57 in a 50 at 11pm on an empty road. Ate the charge, did the course. Should I have just said *“bUt NuRsEs WeRe SpEeDiNg ToO!”* on the summons?
I mean just look at him, you can’t take him seriously
The thing is:
I don’t doubt there were some teachers and some nurses who broke lockdown rules. They’re a massive group of people and quite a lot broke the rules, it’s almost inconceivable that there were a few from those professions who did. But:
It wasn’t the majority
They didn’t set the rules
They got punished for breaking them.
They didn’t get the benefit of a full investigation, they got a police officer making his own judgement. They didn’t have a hand in setting them, and were told to follow them. I would imagine many of us have broken lockdown rules in the past, but our politicians who set them should be held to the standard that they set for everyone else and when they fail to live up to it they should lose their ability to make new ones.
People of Lichfield do yourselves a favour and send this utter clown packing
Mom can we have BoJo?
We have BoJo at home.
BoJo at home: Fabricant
Everyone needs to calm down we all clapped for the NHS that means we can say whatever we want now.
Imagine it’s polling day and you vote for that absolute joke in a woman’s wig.
What are people thinking?
How out of touch can you be. Staffroom have been closed down in most work places during covid. Any teacher or nurse who would bring alcohol to work would be out of the job in no time. In case of nurses out of nursing PIN as well.
I am fuming. Back in 2020 at the end of a day I would jump in a carer drive home and run in a shower before I even seen anyone at home. End of a day of nurses and care workers was stripping naked at a door and scrubbing yourself clean and avoiding to hug or kiss your kids because we have been exposed to covid front line.
Some of a nurses and care worker not only didn’t have a quite drink in a staff room but also didn’t have a drink at home because they fucking died!
We are family of teacher (my partner) and care worker (myself) I can guarantee you that bringing alcohol to work premises at school, care home or hospital is 100% sackable offence and any of us would lose a job in no time. When one of nurses retired at our place I had to ask my manager for special permission to let me bring wine to give her as a leaving gift, the wine that she took home unopen. Drinks in staffroom aren’t normal those people are so privileged that they have no idea what working reality looks like. Most work staffrooms are a couple of chairs, microwave and kettle and that is about it.
If I even suggested drinks in a staffroom in a hospital I work that would be the end of my career in healthcare.
I’m so ashamed to have this man as my region’s MP. He’s such a slimy, sleazy, wrinkly, festering arsehole of a man. He has been consistently voted in for the past 30 years and, to be honest, I don’t see that changing anytime soon – those who run against him half-arse their campaigns and the constituency borders have recently changed to remove a typically left-leaning area and include a typically conservative-voting area.
He’s made of Teflon and lives for the attention he gets from the media. He’s done nothing but ruin the local area and profit from it.
Why does the dude look like he wants to speak to my manager?
They really fucking hate anyone who doesn’t give them a bung, don’t they?
He looks like Boris Johnson and Jimmy Savilles love child that was left in a tanning bed.
Our staffroom was barricaded off like the kids playgrounds.
I’m still not convinced Michael Fabricant isn’t a Mike Myers parody character that’s gone too far… is there anyway we can get this checked?
He always looks like a budget Boris Johnson cosplay
It’s pathological for these Tory scumbags. Scandal engulfs their party and the first reaction is to lash out and attack their old favourites: the public sector.
Fabricunt is just a complete and utter wanker. How can anyone look at him and think “there’s a man who represents me”, and proceed to vote for him?
“THey broke the law by going to work.” FUCK OFF! They had to go to work because of the nature of their jobs. Retail workers had to go to work because without them, no-one would be able to buy any food, tolieteries etc… So what if nurses, teachers and other key workers had a drink after work? It’s not illegal or immoral to do so. But claiming that they do in the staff room is fucking insulting. The government seems to hate key workers and NHS workers. They give themselves a pay rise but giving NHS workers a raise? Suddenly, there’s no cash and it’s deemed unsuitable for those who risked their health, sacrificed weeks, months of their lives via self isolating in different acomedation etc…

They may as well just come out and go “FUCK YOU PEASENTS, WE’RE IN CHARGE. SHUT UP AND GIVE US MORE CASH.”
Tbf, Nurses can do what the f**k they want, they were strapped to the frontline during the thick of it, working god knows what hours, witnessing unimaginable horror, during the time we were most afraid of the virus and had no idea how fatal it would become while every day they were printing picture walls of dead medical professionals in the papers.
If heroes want a couple beers and half an hour of comraderie if only to stave off burnout and compassion fatigue, have at it.
Jesus Christ, I thought that picture was a teacher dressed as Boris in some sort of protest. I can’t believe a human actually looks like that, what the fuck

Some Fabricant times to remember:
* 2014 – after an exchange on Channel 4 between Yasmin Alibhai-Brown and Rod Little he tweeted he could never appear on that show as he “would either end up with a brain haemorrhage or by [punching her in the throat](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/michael-fabricant-blasted-for-tweet-saying-he-would-punch-yasmin-alibhaibrown-in-the-throat-9551175.html)”
* 2014 – claiming Gaza was a [‘Muslim issue’](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/baroness-warsi-resignation-twitter-backlash-as-tory-mp-michael-fabricant-accused-of-suggesting-gaza-is-a-muslim-issue-9649684.html)
* 2018 – calling a teenage constituent a [‘complete twat’](https://twitter.com/Mike_Fabricant/status/992429664688799745) after she questioned his commitment to working in part of the consituatnecy
* 2018 – when he shared a tweet depicting[ Sadiq Khan having sex with a pig](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-44818546). He claimed he was distracted in a meeting and didn’t clearly see what he was sharing.
* 2021 – when he claimed pro-Palestine protesters in London were *'[primitive – trying to bring to London what they do in the Middle East.’](https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/may/16/conservative-mp-criticised-racist-anti-palestinian-tweet)*
We didn’t do it!
If it did happen, it was an isolated incident!
