  1. Looks like some of the films I have seen have not always featured accurate uniforms.

  2. Barbara Windsor’s uniform in Carry On films.

  3. Briefly in the 1970s, the NHS hired men, but due to the cost of creating a completely different uniform and other reasons, this was not repeated in future decades.

    👀

  4. In person 1990s from when I had a tonsillectomy but 1940s from family photos around the same age.

  5. I have never been in hospital myself, except to visit other people. My sister broke her leg in 1978 so I guess the nurses were wearing the 1970s outfit- but I thought it was blue.

  6. 1978 when they were all chefs and I got my first birthday cake.

  7. The eighties one from old copies of The Bill’s early series, and the Thou’s from personal experience.

  8. When my aunt qualified they we still using the paper hats (which were a bicth to fold apparently), and her uniform had a cape

  9. My Mum had an ornate silver belt buckle as a gift upon qualification then spent most of the rest of her career in Pyjamas.

  10. Getting an operation on a hernia on the day of comic relief 1991 ( Hale and Pace did the stonk) at alder hey children’s hospital when I was 8, so the uniform was still in the 80s but coming into the 90s

  11. 80s for me, but quite frightened of the 60s one as that’s the nurse who comes to get you in Afterlife (the Andrew Lincoln one, not the Ricky Gervais one).

  12. My mum was a nurse and I remember her in the 00s uniform, she also wore her Royal masonic hospital belt.

  13. 1960’s i remember my mum putting on lipstick using only candle light due to power cuts. it was the cuffs i remember my mum putting on as well.

  14. Are you telling me the nurses uniforms in Benny Hill weren’t an accurate depiction of the real uniforms of the time?

  15. Cool! Why do they keep changing it? Also why did they lose their hats?

  16. Earliest i remember would be the 2010s ones (I was born in the mid 2000s, so i’ll be damned if i remember the 2000s one)

  17. Looks like that dude is about to have the best night of role-play of his life!

  18. I was born in the 70s and had my tonsils out in the 80s. But I really remember the 90s one. Perhaps from watching Children’s Ward and Casualty.

  19. Probably the 90s, I had to go to hospital when I was very little for a asthma attack. Kids wards weren’t as brightly muraled as they are now and it was pretty scary.

  20. Jenny Agutter’s uniform in American Werewolf in London (1981). Quite accurate but hers had more “flair” including the upside-down watch.
