1. The severity of these storms is why the climate denial machine has settled on the “climate has always been changing” message.

   And if you don’t know anything about it, and everyone you know parrots the same line, I guess you’re most likely to just shrug your shoulders and accept that narrative.

3. I feel for those who suffered from this and just how quickly the climate is changing all over the globe. Recently saw how the southern ocean is reversing circulation and the hotter waters will only exacerbate and make these events more widespread.

There are 600 laid off noaa workers somewhere if Texas could come up with its in-state funding no federal dollars to be used maybe offering some of those former workers respiration to help with moving expenses and jobs working for the state of Texas weather bureau. It might be insurance against global warming effects. Climate is what you expect, weather is what you get. That’s why climate change is nonsense.

9. The sadness is the climate is changing and they know it. They have decided on the just less information is the only way to keep them dumb now. So people will die. People property destroyed. They will go how could we have known. They were to busy giving them selves more money and tax cuts to see they just ended the American fabric of care. NOAA and its predictions are at the nws are at the bedrock of what helps keep people safe but they were to close to telling the truth these storms are getting stronger meaner and more frequent. So they were woke and had to go. If you know some one who voted for this make sure they know they are principle responsible

10. Reminder that we’ve known about this problem for half a century and in 2026 have enacted one of the worst anti-climate budgets we’ve seen. Which means nothing meaningful has a chance of passing until 2028+ which is aligned with most 2030 decarb goals, which are needed if we have any hope at 2050 net zero.

    Those in power have given up or think AI will be our savior.

13. I don’t want to belittle the tragedy but I feel like if this happened in Kenya for example, if would get 1% of the coverage or care from the American public. That difference to me is more of a tragedy.

14. MAGA local govt, MAGA state govt, MAGA federal government. Yet tryna say it was “Biden setup” that caused it. I think we reach a point where people want to believe the cult chants but their subconscious survival instinct begins to erode their sanity, with increasing dissonance vs their conscious beliefs.
