AhlulBayt News Agency: The Israeli regime has continued violating its ceasefire agreement with Lebanon by launching frequent air and artillery strikes on Lebanese territory.
Lebanese sources reported that Israeli jets carried out new airstrikes on Sunday targeting areas surrounding the town of Bodai in eastern Baalbek.
Additional strikes were reported on the outskirts of Arzi and Burj Rahal, located northeast of the Tyre district.
In southern Lebanon, air raids hit Kfar Melki in the Sidon district, as well as towns situated along the Litani River and in the mountainous Iqlim al-Tuffah region.
Further attacks took place near the towns of Tebna and Baisarieh in the Sidon area, and another strike was recorded near Al-Qasmieh River in Al-Zahrani.
The Israeli military issued a statement saying the operations targeted sites used for storing and manufacturing strategic weapons, along with a location identified as a rocket launch area.
Despite the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hezbollah that began on November 27, Israeli forces have consistently conducted airstrikes inside Lebanon, breaching the terms of the agreement.
Since November, Israeli forces are reported to have violated the ceasefire over 3,700 times, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians.
On January 27, 2025, Lebanon extended the ceasefire agreement until February 18.
Even though the new ceasefire period has expired, Israeli forces still occupy five key areas in southern Lebanon: Labbouneh, Mount Blat, Owayda Hill, Aaziyyeh, and Hammamis Hill, all near the border.
The Lebanese government has denounced the ongoing military presence, viewing it as a breach of both the ceasefire terms and the withdrawal deadline.
Officials in Beirut have stated their readiness to take necessary actions to remove Israeli forces from Lebanese soil.
For decades, the southern Lebanon border has been overseen by UN peacekeepers from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), who have documented numerous Israeli violations.
