Not sure leaving your pets for three months with a stranger on spareroom is up there with the wisest of decisions.

so.. I live in the area and yes, they are getting these ridiculous rents around here from mostly very wealthy and young Chinese professionals..
The cats is weird though, if one of them needs a vet, who pays for this? I’m assuming the landlord is providing food? what happens if one of the cats does that cat thing and disappears?
Oh, and pay me 54 quid for the privilege of cleaning their shit up. The fuck is this, some crazy will thing, where legally the cats own the property?
I’d be interested to know the legal ramifications if a lodger just didn’t feed them

Yoko Ono poster checks out.
What the heck. Is this what the UK is dealing with now?

would pay that to be honest
Jesus, the poor cats. I hope the owner decides to get them looked after properly rather than by a random who’s already bitter af at paying over £2k for the privilege.
If they want a catsitter they should be paying the catsitter or at least offering a substantial discount for being a catsitter for a month.
Con artist doing daylight robbery framed as a bargain/”lovely responsibility”
This is taking the PISS LOL
I love cats so I wouldn’t mind.,
It would cost about £2k per month to get an over night cat sitter from cat in the flat for 31 days, this person is absolutely mad. Who would respond to this ad? Why would someone pay you to mind your flat?
Surrey Quays is not a hidden Gem.
Also if you see this – go to Trusted House Sitters or House s Sitters UK, where you can sit in central London for free ( minus website fee)
I saw another one of these yesterday, three cats for a min of six months

Surrey Quays a hidden gem? Yeah alright
Sounds like AirBNB wouldn’t let them list ‘cat sitting’ as a condition for guests so they’re trying their luck on Spareroom
This would be torture. The landlord would be checking in like every day on the cats.
I actually saw an ad like this recently on spareroom that was written from the perspective of the cats. It was psychotic.
This is why people hate landlords
The (within reason) is a red flag, either it’s all bills included or it isn’t. Within reason is so vague as everyone has different measures of what’s reasonable.
FYI, you can get this for free (or rather, the annual membership fee of £169) via Trusted House Sitters.
Have the cats promised to be well-behaved?
Canada Water and Surrey Quays are like dead boring places to live in.
I hate London’s bs rental market.
I wouldn’t be able to sleep with those shelves above my head
May I know how many lives these cats are currently on, as anything below 5 would require a reduction in rent due to the high risks involved!!
Before I got my own place I used trustedhousesitters in London and stayed in beautiful houses for free, looking after people’s pets. If you are looking for a sublet and know how to care for animals, try house sitting. Often it’s just an older chill dog that requires a calm walk in the morning.
In London it feels like a fair transaction, they get free pet care. You stay for free.
Charging £2k a month though 🤣pmsl
Maybe Edgar was the hero in aristocats
I assume that’s some jacked up short term rental price, as that’s the cost of a decent 2-bed in Surrey Quays.
I have a similar situation as I work away but only for short periods 5 days or so. The kind thing would be if they bought a robot litter 4. I’ve got one and it literally deals with everything all you need to do is pour litter in the dispenser and replace the waste bag every two weeks. The LR cleans after every visit. Then get an automatic food dispenser and water fountain again only needs topping up every 2 weeks or so and is a 5minute job. If that was the setup I would say its not to bad as it’s as hands off as you can get.
I could never dream of asking my housemate / a lodger / subleter to pick up my cats shit and pay for the privilege that’s wild!
If you think I wouldn’t steal these two lovely void babies on my way out, you’re sorely mistaken lmao
I’ll do it! I love cats especially black cats. The apartment would be horrible WITHOUT the cats, they make it feel like home
Hahaha I know this person, she posted the same request on Facebook. Not surprised it’s made its way here.
‘Within reasons’ who sets the limit? Risky game in my opinion…
Disgusting behaviour.
I *pay* people to watch our cats when we’re away. Recently we’ve had one guy do it for free because he got to live in our flat for two weeks in return.
This is insane.
