Many bands carefully curate an image. Whether that is for branding, personal reasons, or anything in between, image is often everything, and when it comes to the L.A metal band Tool, an image of elusiveness is key.
Tool is one of the more unique metal bands to surface in the past 30 years. They’ve become synonymous with their esoteric visuals, incredibly complex songs, and an air of secrecy about their performances.
It is rare that the band indulges a professional taping of one of their shows. It’s even rare by the band’s standards to see singer Maynard James Keenan’s face. All of this is why it is incredibly surprising that we not only got to see the band perform in board daylight, but with professional video as a part of their set at the Back to the Beginning celebration.
It’s certainly something to see Tool performing out in the open like this. Fans rushed to the comments to react to the exceedingly rare footage.
