Hi everyone,

I recently drove from Hungary to Bratislava and used Google Maps with the "avoid tolls" option enabled. I’m attaching a screenshot of the route I took.

Could someone please tell me if any part of this route requires a toll or a vignette (especially the R7 section near Bratislava)? I want to be sure because I have followed the non-toll roads, but I’m not familiar with the local rules.

If any part of this route is a toll road and I didn’t have a vignette, what kind of fine or penalty should I expect? Is there a chance I might not get caught if I only drove a very short segment?

  1. If I’m not mistaken you should be fine. Those sections of D4 and R7 are not paid.

  4. I just drove home taking the same roads. These sections are all toll-free.
