Though I think China could get away with a Taiwanese invasion, Russia would get so decimated by NATO, it wouldn’t be funny. And after Russia falls, then what China?
I mean, what would be in this for Russia? Putin’s made a few stupid decisions but this is such an obvious lose/lose situation I don’t think he’d even try.
No, it’s a not-gonna-happen scenario. This is blatant fear-mongering; a painfully transparent attempt to bolster public support for increased military spending. I think increased military spending in Europe is a great idea, but officials shouldn’t be using underhanded, disingenuous crap like this to garner support. It’s unethical in the extreme.
Russia has absolutely nothing to gain by butting heads directly with NATO.
This might have been a good strategy before Russia invaded Ukraine. Now not so much
I can’t believe people aren’t seeing the massive psyOp that the CCP is putting out.
Either China attacks Taiwan and Russia somehow becomes competent at war, or ….
China isn’t attacking Taiwan, it wants Russia to attack nato so it can sweep the Russian far east after Moscow gets its shit stomped on.
Look up how many Chinese people live in the Russian far east. And then look up the growth.
Either way, China does nothing and wins.
How is Russia continuously purported as a threat to NATO when they can’t defeat Ukraine?
I understand the need for more defence spending as a Russian deterrent but surely if they fought any time soon NATO would crush Russia.
Sounds like something Russia and China would like you to believe.
Finland by themselves would smack Russia hard. Even without the US involved, NATO has the resources to quickly defeat Russian aggression.
more likely is:
China realize the west is still too strong and got too many friends. Doesn’t invade Taiwan, instead invade Russia which is weak and depleted to get Manchuria back. While he world look at Putin getting back stabbed.
Both ruzzia and china can easily mobilize millions of meatwave. They will use the exact same tactic as in ww2 and Korean War. Fight till the other side run out of ammo.
Although I think this level of 4r chess is unlikely it does become more likely when you consider trump. If there is a simultaneous war (Russia invaded Poland and china attacks Taiwan) I can see trump just saying he’s going to wash his hands of both wars and stay out of it. He is looking for an excuse to screw nato and he genuinely doesn’t care about Taiwan but he would likely still honor our commitments to Taiwan because… china. But a two front war gives him the excuse to nope out of it.
I feel people think that invasion of Taiwan is so inevitable that it is certainty, yet there is no way to sneakily do it without putting thousands of landing ships out and it would seem near impossible to cover that kind of distance in the wide open sea, and Taiwan has been stockpiling anti air and anti ship missiles for years. Also I gotta figure some kind of low cost “manta” like submarine drone to deploy mines behind sweepers would make the sea invasion part nearly impossible.
I would suspect in this scenario, we would also see an attack on South Korean as well.
Russia striking any single NATO country would be a losing effort, let alone fighting all of them.
And NK invades SK, Iran and their proxies invade Israel, and widespread domestic violence is perpetrated across the US in an attempt to start a civil war. Anyone who thinks about how these anti-western countries would go about achieving their goals would come to this conclusion.
Russia would attack NATO and promptly get devastated
of course it’s plausible. China will want the rest of the world tied up.
I don’t see how global thermonuclear war helps China get Taiwan, but ok.
Russia striking NATO… With what?
This has always been the purpose of all of it. This was never some isolated Russian attack on Ukraine alone, that was just the field picked for the opening moves. Thus has been, from the start, a coordinated effort by China and Russia together, along with other BRICS nations, to bring down the United States, and the international rules-based order under the UN.
They said it pretty plainly on February 4th 2022, just 20 days before Russia moved to invade Ukraine. Ukraine may have been invaded, but the target was the world. The plan was to disrupt the European economy, destabilize global order, and begun draining the US and NATO nations of munitions, supplies, and most importantly political will of the voting populations.
That’s how they helped get Trump elected. That, and getting brand new BRICS member Iran to fire up their Middle East proxies and goad Israel into war… yet another drain on the US military strength.
All in preparation for what will probably be a 2027 Chinese blockage and “reclamation” of Taiwan… which the US will oppose. And that showdown opens the gates for the rest, as we move to a change in the world order, away from international rules-based order, and to a multipolar order of imperialism and conquest once again.
And then, finally, as one side or the other begins to lose… we have nuclear war. Because nuclear nations can’t lose wars. At least, not alone they can’t…
Anyway, for all the deniers, I’ve been saying all this for [years now.](https://www.reddit.com/r/collapse/s/qraDtROoWf) Even wrote a book. But hey, you don’t have to believe me. Just wait and see.
Hilarious. They try it and I will be vacationing in Moscow or as we will be calling it “New Warsaw,” in 3-4 years.
Yeah, Putin is going to invade the strongest military alliance in the history of the world just as a favour to Xi.
Think about it for a second people.
