Q: “Is the president at all concerned that these countries receiving the letters won’t take them seriously given the deadline seems to have shifted already and may shift again?” Leavitt: “They will take the letters seriously because they have taken the president seriously.”

  1. The only think trump as made the world realize is that America is unreliable and best to find other trading partners

  2. The president isn’t allowed to implement tariffs willy nilly be cause that’s not his job. Any country that understand the USA government law is disgusted by this administration and will not be taken seriously.

  3. “She’s just a shill on capitol hill….” How does that go again? Its been a long time since I saw that animation.

  4. Of course. You always take a drunken elephant thrashing around in a china shop seriously. Although you might pause for a selfie. However, the serious aim is to get the elephant sedated and packed off to a nice zoo.

  5. If your argument for why the president will be taken seriously in the future is that he’s been taken seriously in the past, you’re just straight up living on a different plane of reality.

He’s a god damn moron, and the rest of the world knows it.

  6. It’s like listening to a toddler.

  7. So seriously that they had to be sent tariff letters lol

  8. Take him seriously? That’s funny. Is two weeks the deadline?

  9. You guys should read the letters. They’re embarrassingly poorly written, just like his tweets. Weird and unnecessary capitalization, broken phrasing and bad grammar. It’s all just so sad that this is all real. Our decline is accelerating.

  10. God damn this is insane, terrifying and entertaining as a non-american.

  11. We have to unilaterally impose tariffs because no one is negotiating with us… But the phone is ringing off the hook!

  12. They’ve taken Trump so seriously they blew off the July 7 deadline! I can’t get over how willing his boot lickers are to say things that make them appear stupid. Completely stupid.

  13. Olllld news, heard this 80 days ago! The US has resorted to sending letters, because nobody gives an F about the US. Nobody is begging the US, if the US has to send out the letters. lol

Absolute morons. This a smoke screen before you get dragged off to Alligator Auschwitz.

  14. They don’t take him seriously. It seems most countries are fed up with us and trying to figure out how to distance themselves from us; if not for at least the next 4 years then permanently.

  15. Donny a the most corrupt politician in world history, he is up there with the worse of the worse!

  16. What do they care. It’s the American consumer who pays for the tarriff.

  17. These World leaders all calling Trump, all super models too.

  18. “The Presidunce will continue to flip-flop on tariffs to maximize under-the-table personal extortion payments from foreign countries into his untraceable crypto-currency wallet. And the American people will continue to pay through the nose for the tariffs.”

  19. If they took him seriously, why send the letters begging for a trade deal after the 90 days? Oops! There’s that logic again.

  20. I think the president has leverage; leverage being people in the US buy things and at a higher price than some other countries.
There are also probably other advantages I’m unaware of that gives this president the conviction/confidence to do what he does. Doesn’t seem really friendly though. Abuse of power.

If an external source was messing with our potential to existing/reoccurring income. We would take action, depending on individual circumstances. Some may bend the knee, but some may find this as unreliable source and look elsewhere to sell to. But income is income and one may still find value in continuing trade, active looking for other customers, or lessen what they sell here

Not the best relationship (which i would prioritize), but tough business as usual.

  21. This administration is incompetent. Mismanaged and grossly incompetent. That enterprises and corporations aren’t screaming bloody murder about Trump’s Yo-Yo Economic Strategery I don’t understand.

  22. Has Elon got any more cream left in his cannon for the TACO or is he all out? I feel like there is more mountain in front of the plane with those two.
