Random question here, but hey, isn’t that what Reddit’s for? 🫠
I’m looking for japanese nato (the fermented gooey soy beans) after having discovered that you can basically spice them however you want and adjust them to your taste (duh).
I know Uchitomi in Lausanne have them, but they are quite generic (and expensive, knowing that we now have a pretty decent consumption).
I was wondering if the community knew of some shops that can deliver by Post?
TIA

looddl.ch usually carries some
YumiHana in Bern has them. Last time I was there, they had a few different brands/varieties. Not sure if they deliver by Post though.
Could you share some recipes? I bought some at ushitomi but never came around to try it.
Don’t you write and pronounce it like ‘Natto’?
Looks like dog puke. Source: have a dog
They are called Natto beans and not NATO
I used to by mine @ utchitomi in Lausanne and Geneva
You can make it yourself. If you eat it often enough, I think it will be easier to find soy than bigger packs than the frozen ones at Uchitomi.
That stuff is so vile, I am planning to name my next metal band “Natto Breath”.
Ly Thanh Asian market in Vevey has huge signs for natto. Please buy it so I don’t have to look at the ads anymore 🙂
I don’t eat it so can’t say anything about quality or buying online, but if you’re in Vaud already at least not a huge trek.
Wakara in Aarau also has them
You’re not going to find cheaper than uchitomi really unless a small Asian corner shop has it – which is unlikely as its a very specialist Japanese thing and they don’t usually do refrigerated food.
Online would be hard as again they need to be kept in the fridge. There’s some Japanese supermarket sites out there but I can’t recommend one.
Just.. why?
