I imagine alot of middle ranking officers have been busy being promoted to dead man’s shoes. How many newly minted captains to ltc have there been in russia over the pass 3 years?
Anyone who was truly elite died at the beginning of the war, it’s an army of reserves now

Ah yes the “Warcrime brigade”.

That unit stopped being “elite” a long time ago. I believe they have been reconstituted at least 3 times already. Just because you take a bunch of guys put a uniform with some patches and call them “elite” does not make them so. To be “elite” takes time and a lot of training as a unit.
Anybody who was ever deemed elite in the Russian army is long dead
