It’s been nearly 640 days since Idit Ohel’s son, Alon, was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists while attending the Nova music festival in Israel.

Alon Ohel is one of about 20 hostages still being held in the Gaza Strip who are believed to be alive. His mother spoke with Spectrum News’ Sharon Tazewell on Monday, the same day Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was at the White House to meet with President Donald Trump.

“I’m so alone now,” Idit Ohel said. “He is 24 years old. He’s my oldest, and he loves life.”

Alon Ohel has been badly injured, with “sharp nails” all over his body, including in one of his eyes, his mother said.

“He’s been held in very harsh conditions, being starved, bound by chains on his legs so he could not move, and has not seen the sunlight, even the sky, for more than 640 days,” Idit Ohel said. “And we are very worried about him.

“We need to see them home,” Idit Ohel said of the remaining hostages. “We need to see them home as fast as possible, and the injured definitely to come home.”
