The Bank of Italy said Tuesday that
its latest survey on sentiment among firms with over 50
employees showed that Italian businesses were less pessimistic
than they had been about their prospects in the second quarter
of 2025.

It said that Italian businesses’ assessments of the general
economic situation “remained unfavourable on the whole”, while
adding that difference between the number of firms that were
negative and those that saw things improving “was significantly
reduced.”
The central bank added that “32% of manufacturing firms and 12%
of service firms reported negative impacts attributable to the
U.S. announcements and implementation of tariffs.”
