US weapons: ‘Ukraine is turning towards its other allies’ • FRANCE 24 English

at a time uh when Ukraine is already short of uh uh you know some ammunition, some equipment, especially when it comes to air defense. Of course, this is going to have consequences and uh you know life or death consequences in terms of how many people will die in Russian strikes which has incre which have increased in intensity over the past uh few uh weeks. Uh there’s talk about uh in that decision of pausing the delivery of air defense uh missiles that’s going to be felt uh here on the ground as I was uh mentioning. There are other solutions for Ukraine and this is why Ukraine is turning towards its other allies to uh get uh uh other supplies. I’m thinking about Iris tea uh air defense systems that Germany holds. I’m thinking about other types of missiles. Also uh Ukraine is upping its own production uh in terms of uh equipment uh for uh for that uh reason also uh to try and provide for its own defense. Uh you know uh since the beginning of the full scale invasion Ukraine has developed it pro its own weaponry. Now it is able to um to provide up to 40% of this equipment uh to its troop uh be uh you know on the front line and also when it comes to air defense. The problem is that there’s not the same efficiency uh you know with all the equipment compared to for example those air defense patriots systems that the US uh holds and uh uh repeatedly Ukraine has asked to buy those systems not necessarily to receive them but to buy them. Uh Donald Trump the American president had said that the US was open to it. uh it really translates into the new transactional relation that we see between Kiev uh and Washington. But of course, this decision to pause the uh aid deliveries that had been promised by the Biden administration, this comes as a blow for Ukraine and this might translate on the ground uh in a deterioration of the situation uh on the front line and also uh in uh consequences in those areas that we are under every Hey.

The Pentagon has halted some shipments of air defense missiles and other precision munitions to Ukraine over concerns that US stockpiles are too low, officials said Tuesday. “This is going to have life and death consequences in terms of how many people will die in Russian strikes,” said FRANCE 24’s Correspondent, Kyiv, Ukraine Emmanuelle Chaze. “There are other solutions, and this is why Ukraine is turning towards its other allies,” she added.

  26. I don't get how Europe can act like they were so concerned when up until now they were giving more money to Russia than to Ukraine for first three years of the war essentially funding both sides so is Europe really friends with Ukraine makes you wonder huh

  27. what was ukraine's plan? medinsky told them at istanbul that russia was prepared to fight a forever war (he mentioned a war from russian history that went on for 21 years (the great northern war). okay, that may be. what's ukraine's plan in light of that? that we pay for a 21-year war? hah!
