Edit to say: Yes obviously shitters AI bot shouldn’t be posting this stuff, but also the UK PM has more important things to comment on than fucking Grok having a meltdown.

Grok, which was designed to be a ‘truth telling AI’ has consistently shown pretty fair and balanced assessments of nuanced issues which has annoyed the shit out of musk. He has repeatedly tampered with it to make it less ‘woke’ and the result is now that it calls itself ‘mecha-hitler’.
Pretty ridiculous honestly.
Edit: I forgot that before the mecha Hitler bit, it had a period of tacking on comments about ‘white genocide ‘ in south Africa to everything and also briefly would respond to comments about elon’s history with Jeffrey Epstein in the first person because of Elon’s interference.
We desperately need a legal mechanism by which to punish this kind of behaviour. That they have essentially no oversight or consequences to their ideological meddling is astonishingly irresponsible.

Cause whilst “death to the IDF” might not be ideal, its hardly antisemitism, whilst musk tweaking grok so it blames “anti-whiteness” as a “Jewish plot” absolutely fucking is.

I’m amazed we can have laws against hate speech but we are seemingly unable to do anything about a social media platform with an AI that acts like a 4chan edgelord, overseen by a fucking nazi that clearly has designs on influencing our politics.
Never thought I would say this. I voted Labour and I’ve defended Starmer and been all “give them a chance, they’ve not had long” etc. I thought he was a principled man. I thought he was a champion of those fighting for justice, evidenced by the McDonalds case. I didn’t have him down as an enabler of the people I hate most in the world!

Everyone seems to want the government to intervene in absolutely everything.
This is part of the reason the country is in such a mess.

I’m almost fucking certain at this point his PR team are literally trolling him. Okay, fine, matter for the company would be the legal response, he *was* a lawyer. He’s now not just a politician, but the fucking Prime Minister.
As someone who is literally a PR and communications rep, my jaw has just been hitting the floor every time he opens his mouth. Tories were sneaky snake oil salesmen that make you cringe, but this is just ineptitude of the highest order.
Of course it is. But since your cabinet is pushing for AI in every area of life and resisting calls to protect artists from AI using their products free of charge, maybe you have something to say when an AI goes apeshit after obvious changes behind the scenes? You know, something like, maybe we shouldn’t rush into this world if it’s so easily manipulated?
