Context:
He is on trial for insulting Erdogan.
His defense is that his tweet was for Netanyahu.
Translation:
Bekir Aslan, a social media personality known as “Basel” and a Galatasaray University student, was detained yesterday evening on charges of “insulting the President” for a post he made on the X platform. Aslan was taken to the Istanbul Police Department on Vatan Street and, after being questioned by law enforcement, was transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse this morning. Without being questioned by the prosecutor, Aslan was referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for his arrest on the case file and arrested on charges of “insulting the President.”
During questioning by the judge, Aslan stated that the post was not directed at President Erdoğan, but at Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
The
How dare you insult the eternal supreme leader!?
Die Bart, Die.
“A drunk man was shouting in front of the Kremlin, ‘Down with the dictator!’
The police sobered him up and brought him to Stalin.
Stalin asked, ‘Comrade, who did you mean by that?’
The man replied, ‘I was talking about Hi**er!’
Stalin turned to the police and said, ‘And you, comrade—who did you think he meant?'”
Sounds like Germany.
Die regierung ist verrückt!
Maybe he’s an avid DnD player and was talking about dice?
Anyway saving throw failed 😔 critical failure
Poor guy started a sentence in German and accidentally hit send and now he’s in jail.
This reminds me of a joke where a Soviet police officer arrests someone for protesting “the dictator”. He’s brought to Stalin, who asks “what did you mean by that comrade?” The protester answers “I was talking about Hitler.” Stalin then turns to the officer and asks “What did *you* mean by that comrade?”
Some details might be different than I remember but I think the gist is clear.
Grok, Twitter’s AI model is banned in Turkey after allegedly insulting the president. It can only post images in the comments now. Lol Turkey went crazy. Huge crops to Grok for honesty.
This guy is hypocrite. He was mocking nationalists when Erdoğan was arresting them and had a sexting scandal during the 2023 earthquake. He is not an influencer just an asshole.
Old soviet-era joke:
>A secretary (in some versions Alexander Poskrebyshev) is standing outside the Kremlin as Marshal Zhukov leaves a meeting with Stalin, and he hears him muttering under his breath, “Murderous moustache!” He runs in to see Stalin and breathlessly reports, “I just heard Zhukov say ‘Murderous moustache’!” Stalin dismisses the secretary and sends for Zhukov, who comes back in. “Who did you have in mind with ‘Murderous moustache’?” asks Stalin. “Why, Josef Vissarionovich, Hitler, of course!” Stalin thanks him, dismisses him, and calls the secretary back. “And who did you think he was talking about?”
People will see this critique it and then go on to say they want hate speech laws in the same breath…
Lmfap this is downright hilarious
how many thought this happened in Switzerland and starting a sentence with an article then accidentally posting it would have been a normal occurrence.
In Russia they would have thrown him out of a window and used his tweet as evidence for suicide.
Doesn’t matter who its about
Nice
