ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The monthly Sustain Rockford meeting addresses the importance of nature in sustainability.
The meeting took place July 9 at Prairie Street Brewery.
Nature at the Confluence Executive Director, Julie Uram spoke at the event, promoting ways to make the community more sustainable.
“We are very concerned about sustaining not only our species but biodiversity and the beauty of our planet,” said Uram. “I think we need to remember that nature is not separate from people. Protecting the environment is a very social issue.”
The event also covered updates about Nature at the Confluence this summer, their impact throughout the year and the relevance to the community.
