A rough look at the size of each county’s reddit communities. Shoutout to the lone ranger keeping r/longford afloat.

  1. Conspiracy theory:
You’ve never met anyone from Leitrim. But Leitrim kids always won the Den’s competitions.

Leitrim exists so the Den can say little Sean from Leitrim won the competition but not actually pay anything out. As noone knows anyone from Leitrim so can’t confirm.

  2. Its all about the city really. Shouldn’t /r/down get to share /r/belfast

I’d say most of the users of /r/cork are from the city which has much smaller population than the county.

  3. I’m sure that a large number of people from East and South Belfast, out as far as Carryduff and Dundonald, would identify with r/belfast more than with r/countydown

  4. I just joined r/wexford because of this, then checked to see if there was a more localised sub so looked at r/gorey. Don’t visit, some sick images and nothing to do with the town.

  5. I’d like an inquiry into r/kilkenny subscribers numbers . They’ve got 10 times the subscribers of the Tipp sub but the top posts of all time have the same number of upvotes. Something dodgy going on there

  6. r/Louth is split because there is apparently a town in England called Louth and sometimes there are posts about their stuff…. Would appreciate some backup!

  7. I’m nearly sure there was at least 3 of us having a conversation about a Monaghan man who has moved to Dungannon recently, so has to be 3 of us!! 😂

  8. Tipperary reporting in. From now on I am referring to Tipperary exclusively as “the 537”.

  9. One of the latest posts on r/Wexford is a ‘missed connections’ type ad. Poor fella, hope he found who he was looking for.

Unless he’s a murderer, in which case I hope he didn’t.

  10. Wasn’t r/mayo setup for the sandwich topping and then handed over to mayo people. The about page even says we are great on and sandwich

  11. Someone needs to do this again in a week to see how much each sub has changed, because they will have changed significantly

  12. Let’s get Longford to the top of this leaderboard just like that time ‘A Nation Once Again’ was voted the world’s favourite song. This is your chance to be a part of history like every absolute hero that made that happen

  13. When did they bring the internet to Longford? I didn’t even know they’d got landlines there.

(She says from the bustling metropolis of Co.Louth!)
