A winner-take-all match will send one team to the quarterfinals at the UEFA Women’s European Championship, as Finland takes on host Switzerland on Thursday.

Both sides come into this match level on points thanks to similar results.

The Swiss came out strong against Norway in their first match, and seemingly looked like they had a great chance to win. However, two goals allowed in the second half led to a 2-1 loss. Yet, the hosts responded with a strong 2-0 win on Sunday to put them within striking distance of the quarterfinals for the first time.

Finland has not been to the knockout stage at the Euros since they hosted the tournament in 2009. They looked like they were on the right path when they beat Iceland in their first match, but a tough 2-1 loss to Norway put them on the brink of elimination.

The goal for both teams is simple: win, and they’re in. If Thursday’s contest were to end in a draw, the Swiss would advance based on goal differential. If either side wins by enough goals and Norway loses to Iceland, either team has a shot at finishing atop Group A.
