  1. Saw something similar happen in Connolly station minus falling down a hole. The train pulls in on platform 4 in the building and everyone gets out. I’m in the last of 8 carriages so I’m walking up the entire length of the train

Up around the second carriage I see two Irish Rail employees inspecting the underside of it. One guy starts lying down perpendicular to the train with the other guy watching what he’s doing.

Along comes a passenger coming in heading towards one of the outside platforms but glues to his phone and he ends up tripping over the Irish Rail guys legs.

  2. The area should have been cordoned off. No exceptions.

The chap in red is an eejit.

People shouldn’t have to worry about falling down a trapdoor while walking around a public space.

Who cares if he is on his phone, we all look at our phone in public. Falling down a trapdoor shouldn’t be a concern for anyone.

If the area was cordoned off correctly this wouldn’t have happened.

And I’ll say it again, the chap in red is an eejit.

The poor chap fell square on his arse so most likely avoided any lasting injury, if he went in any other way we are talking potentially life changing injuries.

Oh and the chap in red is an eejit.

  3. Reminds me of the time we were stripping a corrugated iron roof and I stepped back through one of the perspex skylights. Fell into a box of tents, the only injury I had was a small cut on my baby finger. Lesson learned though.

  4. You can see the fella that fell through wasn’t Irish, such a deeply litigious people hah, instinct to sue in court trumps the survival instinct

  5. That video has been going around for ages, the usual Facebook clickbaity thing. It’d be great if RTE could let us know some actual news now and then.
