1. Starmer needs data of non valid asylum claimers being actually returned, or Reform will gain many seats at the next election

   This is a totally ineffectual deal and will be red meat for Reform, yet again mainstream parties are all talk and no results. They’re also too incompetent to solve this issue, but it’s no mystery why Farage is popular.

    I’m not actually that bowled over by the France deal, but it’s a start. It is something concrete. And every concrete result like this, Starmer needs to bash it over Farage’s head publicly relentlessly.

    Obviously Farage is in government. He can’t enact policy to address it.

    But that’s the classic advantage of being an opposition party. You don’t have to do the hard work. You don’t have to worry about the reality. You can just bash the government for its lack of progress and know your supporters will not be thinking about it any more deeply.

    So let Starmer mock Farage for spouting shallow rhetoric while he’s busting a gut and making actual progress on it. Turnabout’s fair play!
