1. Lies that are half true are more likely to stick. It’s true that nature creates floods, even big ones sometimes, but this flood that just happened…? 

2. the north american energy industry (the fossile fuel industry being a part of that) runs its own insurance company.

   that company does an annual meeting. let me tell you, they’re *very* aware of climate change and have been for decades. because they’re paying for it.

   still more profitable to pay up instead of actually doing something about it, so that’s the mess we’re in. and it won’t go away.
