Hi guys ! I'm 18yo, I sell pc on secondhand market for now 1 year, and need advice on this guy.

I had a pc for sale on "petiteannonce.ch" for i think 2 month now, the pc has been sold since.
This guy was interested and he conctated me on WhatsApp Yesterday.

His number starts with +33 (so a french number), and he recently moved to switzerland.

But the whole discussion i had with him is pretty strange, he is using "tu", then "vous", saying "coucou tu es là" the morning to see if i am ready to discuss about the pc (feel like a young boy who wants to flirt with a 14yo girl on Instagram), lots of mistake, doesn't seems to really care about the pc (like, does not ask to see any picture, agrees on everything)

He would pay for shipping cost, and pay for the whole pc before i send it (which, ig, is good) via bank transfer.

Can he fuck me up in any ways ? Like, asking for a chargeback after receiving the pc ? Is this guy weird or am i stupid or paranoid ?

Ps: he is using a professional whatsapp account (if that matter)

Thank you alot guys for any support/answer, idk what to do right now, the pc is ready to be shipped tho

  2. This guy is not a native speaker. He conveniently doesn’t have Twint. He directly offers to pay for shipping. He doesn’t seem to care much about seeing pics of the finished PC.

    Verdict: likely scammer.

He’s probably going to send you a fake “proof” of payment, or ask you to click on a link.

  3. It is certainly a scam, they might be fishing for your information or more. Do not put your phone number on any such website! The number one red flag is the professional whatsapp account. Only reason one would have one is because they are a company but the conversation would be way more professional and there would be information on the business like name of the shop or things like that. 100% scam.

  4. He can fuck you up in many ways. Like sending you a QR code to “receive” his money. You never have to do that but people fall for that.

It could be that he sends money from a stolen card/account that will be reversed later by the bank.

Lots of red flags. Especiallly since he is not really interested in the specs. Who buys a computer that way?

  5. Yes, he/she sounds weird. Like others said wait for the money to be on your account, don’t click on any links he might send you.

  8. Ah oui ça commence par +33 …et ça finit par 16 05 ?!?! (🙄 le numéro apparaît sur les photos)

  9. He is a scam.
Even though no other country than switzerland has Twint, but we use Paypal everywhere. So you would still receive your money in real time(you would see directly on your own Paypal the proof of payment). He isn’t offering you such an option, so he will send you a fake proof of transaction, so that you send your PC for free. This is why he isn’t asking for specs.
