Chennai: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval said that India struck nine terror targets deep inside Pakistan with precision under Operation Sindoor, completing the mission in just 23 minutes. He made the statement at the 62nd convocation of IIT Madras on July 11, while also emphasizing the importance of indigenous technology in India’s defence capabilities.
“We must develop our own technology. We are proud that Operation Sindoor was largely based on indigenous systems,” Doval said. “We chose nine terror targets inside Pakistan—not near the border, but deep inside. We missed none, and hit only the intended locations.”
Doval added that the Indian forces had precise intelligence, knowing the exact location of each target. “The entire operation was wrapped up in 23 minutes,” he said.
He also criticized foreign media coverage of the operation, especially claims that Pakistan had retaliated effectively. “Let them show even one photograph of any damage to Indian infrastructure—not even a broken window exists,” Doval stated.
He pointed out that foreign media outlets released satellite images showing damage to 13 Pakistani air bases, including those in Sargodha, Chaklala, and Rahim Yar Khan. “These weren’t Indian claims; the images came from global sources. We’re fully capable of delivering such damage,” he added.
Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people. The operation led to four days of cross-border exchanges before a ceasefire was agreed on May 10.
