  1. lmao who the hell would even want to go to a Confucius Institute besides a small minority, what a meaningless thing to go after

  2. Chinese interference of Taiwan election is huge.

Imagine sharing a language with China, all kind of fake news and propaganda is suffocating.

However, they do it in such a repulsive way it has a negative impact on Taiwanese youth’s opinion of China.

You should be more careful of corrupt politicians and German Car Industry lobby than Confucius Institute.

  3. One interesting thing has been the Chinese private and public buying up for land and property in eastern europe and the EU periphery. I met some property managers in Budapest in Hungary who work for Chinese landlords that own scores upon scores of apartments in the city. Although I can’t find records anecdotally it appears a large number of apartments in the city are chinese owned. Much of the same can be said in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.

Then there’s the massive amounts of lands, some reports of up to 15% of the country of the Ukraine being owned by the Chinese.

This infiltration of property and agricultural land provides them with economic and political power in the periphery of Europe where few EU lawmakers or western politicians care for. But it could have drastic consequences in the future as they become more used to the language, culture and polity of those countries.
