🇧🇷 x 🇩🇪
German, what do you really know about Brazil besides 7×1?
Yes, we remember… it was painful 😂 But Brazil isn't just football and samba — just like Germany isn't just beer and punctuality.

In Brazil, we live with music, affection and creativity. We are a country of improvisation, parties, but also of struggle and art. And you? They are known for their efficiency, remarkable history, gothic architecture, deep philosophy, and yes… for Oktoberfest too 🍻

But what does the average German really think when they hear “Brazil”?
Jungle? Carnival? Heat? Or is there real curiosity about who we are?
And do Brazilians still harbor regrets about 7×1… or have they learned to laugh about it?

  1. Former Portuguese colony and thus speaks Portuguese and looks like Portugal in a lot of places.

Great beaches and wildlife. Easy going people. BRICS country. An ethnic melting pot. The south is infested with German descendants who speak a weird dialect no longer found here.

Oh, and also, great food but really unsafe.

  2. – Speaks portugese

    – Is big

    – Is all jungle

    – High murder rate

    – Big jesus

    – Ethanol fuel

    – Carnival

    – José Carioca

  3. I know Brazil besides carnival & bossa nova for having a huge German diaspora including the architecture and for being the “green lung” of the earth, essential for the climate. Also it was once an independent kingdom.

  4. my first thoughts are “Soccer, Samba, Amazonas + Rainforest, Christo Redentor, largest country in South America, people probably think they speak spanish, 7:1”

  5. Brasilia is the capital. Rio de Janeiro is the capital of carnival & crime. Blumenau has a lot of people with German heritage. You have a lot of jungle and I mean a lot. Unfortunately, however, there is a great deal of overexploitation of nature. The Amazonas is the longest river in the world. Very pronounced religiosity, which has an impact on politics. And of course 7:1

  6. brazil;
copa cabana to cidade de deus
i’m older than the 7:1, so the 0:2 from 2002 feels more real to me.

  11. Amazonas Samba Capoeira caipirinha carneval piranhas selecao. Great Beaches mountains rocks waterfalls. Melting pot of cultures. Beautiful people Sadly great inequality still. Crime drugs and favelas and a lot of corruption from the institutions. Very rich people destroying the Amazonas.. music that can make rocks cry. Art. Love of live. Dancing.

  13. I once had a little club in cologne in the early 2000s. And on 1 wednesday each month I hosted a brazilian evening. It was organised by some really nice people of the local brazilian community. They always brought a huge pot of feijoada, the brazilian national food – which is SOOOOO delicious, in fact its one of my favorite foods. They made THE best caipirinha I ever came across. Playing live music together, singing and dancing a lot.
Absolutely awesome, welcoming, superfriendly and always laughing, smiling, happy people. I loved these wednesdays so much 🙂

I know a bit of Brazil, but still way too less. One day we’ll fly over to visit this breathtaking country for at least a month or two. 🤠

  14. Aside of the already mentioned stuff I really like the movie “City if God” which got me into more Brazilian cinema like “Aspirin and Vultures” and of cause “elite squad” 😀

Than there are also famous skaters like bufoni, Leal and to some degree good old burnquist.

But since I watched the 2002 final as a kid, Brazil is engraved together with football in my brain.

  15. Big country
    Women with Big a🍑🍑s
You can get robbed and killed by a 14 years old teenager and nodoby will give a shit
People are very nice and with artistic spirit
Last but not least, the heart of football ⚽
