Eurobank received an honorary distinction at the 13th Invest Cyprus International Investment Awards this week, for its contribution to the Cypriot economy through its strategic investment in Hellenic Bank and its vote of confidence in the country’s banking system and economy.
The award ceremony took place within the framework of the awards organized annually by Invest Cyprus in collaboration with Gold magazine, in the presence of Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides.
With an investment of 1.3 billion euros, Eurobank has made the largest direct foreign investment ever recorded in Cyprus, strengthening the country’s profile as a financial hub with an international scope, and marking a new chapter for the domestic banking market, the relevant announcement noted.
Receiving the award, Eurobank Chairman Giorgos P. Zanias thanked the organizers for the distinction and added: “Our investment in Cyprus is not simply about buying a bank; it represents a strategic positioning at the heart of the Cypriot economy and demonstrates our long-term commitment to creating long-term value and positive impacts for society and the customer.”
