Just got home from holiday a few hours ago and discovered our car was missing from where we parked it in Belsize Park area last night- NW3. It’s a black 2022 Lexus NX 350h with maroon leather interior, license plate AJ72 OHV. We just got it in December and literally just moved to London less than a month ago. Last night around 12:11am we received a notice in the Lexus app that the drivers side door had been opened and then the doors had been unlocked, but we were asleep so we didn’t see it until morning. And the tracking does say it’s still where we left it, but obviously it’s not there. Also called TRACE but it’s not been reported as impounded anywhere. We have filed a police report already but not sure if anything will come of that judging by how things usually go…

Normally we’d be 100% resigned to just say fuck it, it’s London, and take the insurance payout, but we’re worried that the insurance (Admiral) won’t cover us because we hadn’t updated our location to London yet (again we have lived here less than a month hadn’t gotten around to doing it yet…horrible horrible luck!!). Anyway, if anyone sees our sweet lad around please please let us know before he’s shipped off to an African adventure or mutilated beyond recognition 😩 I’ve already run around most of our area with the keys trying to find it but no luck. And I’ve spoken to a neighbor who has a camera with a view of the car who likely caught it and he will contact us in the next few days when he looks at it, but i can’t think of anything else to do in the meantime…

Obviously goes without saying that we will be looking into in more theft-proof means for our next car… thanks London.

  1. Might get lucky. My brothers car got nicked and they found it in a back alley in limehouse

  2. Yeah you might get lucky. My uncles car got stolen this year and the police found it abandoned up north a couple months later, by which time he already had his insurance payout.
