  1. why is this getting downvoted? because it’s russian footage?

  2. The optics on this thing look like dogshit. Did I misunderstand or did the UAV survive an impact from a 30mm round?

  3. How many shots did it take to hit that thing flying straight and level? Russians really suck at this.

  4. Am I trippin or did it take a whole lot of shots to hit the drone lol

How far away is the drone likely to be here?

  5. The way the it’s blurry when they switch field of view is interesting. I’m wondering if it’s a single imaging sensor and the other lenses idle so every time the lens is switched, it needs to hunt a little to focus again.

For anyone wondering, lenses are made of glass elements that move resulting in a certain range of distance being sharp and things closer or farther away are blurry. Same concept with your phone and mirrorless cameras.

Maybe the other systems I’ve seen use an array of imaging sensors and/or lenses that synchronize together so that they focus on the same distance. When the gunner switches views, they get a clear sight picture instantly. Those few seconds do count in combat.

Definitely not an ideal setup. But in general, attack helicopters are proving to be useful in the rear as drone defense whilst losing its usefulness in contested airspace. Would be very interesting to see Apaches being used with APKWS II for drone defense. They already do this with the hellfire (US Army) and 30mm chain gun (IDF).

    Sorry for the essay

  6. Un-blur the sides Vlad, I wanna post this on the war thunder forums

  7. UAV should have did a lateral loop and hit that motha ducka

  8. Are these optics out of the 80’s? What a joke lmao

  9. Feels like playing Wing Commander on a monochrome monitor

  10. Looks like as much missing footage as the epstein cell tapes.

  11. they should put some AA missiles on those UAVs to hunt some Ka-52s

  12. Guided smart ammunition would be a good idea here

  13. Shooting from directly behind rather than a downward angle so those rounds travel to god knows where.

  14. Some very interesting air combat, we’ve seen Russian sources release a LOT of footage recently of their Ka-52s hunting drones. Just goes to show how much they do. Some sources claim a single helicopter and crew have destroyed 84 Ukrainian kamikaze drones (though this claim is speculative, I am inclined to believe it more (possibly around 50-60 are true) as drones are fairly easy to shoot down, and Russia has had to deal with a large amount from Ukraine, easily in the tens of thousands since the start of the Ukrainian UAV counter raids)

  15. Russian system equivalent to the 70s shit we had lmao

Nowadays a Apache has assisted aim and lock on targeting modes the gun has far more swivel and axis to it etc

  16. wtf is with the chattering noise?

are the Russians using 1960s school movie projectors to show g.un camera film?

OP- for this sin you need to find the extended cut of the russian dude getting head tossed one way and body tossed the other way via a well placed drop by a drone.

  17. Someone tighten the damn bolts on that junk generator … my god how could they listen to that all day.

  18. How heavy are anti aircraft missiles? What’s preventing ukraine from mounting those on drones?

Ps: I don’t know much about these stuffs so I am aware that my comment might sound incredibly stupid.

  19. Damn. Russians have shity aim. Shouldn’t have taken that many rounds.
