More expensive with a Nectar card than without. That it’s “my” Nectar price suggests I’m being punished for something…

  1. Loyalty cards a scam. Especially the new style where they raise the “base” price so that the discounted price (which is the same as a different shop) looks like a better deal.

  2. I’ve had that at Sainsbury’s as well. Should be illegal but I just stopped shopping there as I have a Tesco I can use instead.

  3. “I’ll have a multipack of Hula Hoops and a cucumber to ram in all my holes please.”

  4. Are you not appreciating the wonderous features of AI?

  5. Nectar used to be decent, giving regular money off certain spends or double, sometimes triple points with fuel. Now it appears to be product discount focused. Shite

  6. I’ve seen this before, usually after the shop you will get a voucher for the difference in your app. It’s if there is a temporary shop discount but your personal nectar prices haven’t taken it into account.

  7. Best deals are on the discount shelf. Nectar points – which you get BTW also when you buy the discounted stuff – are just a nice plus. Nectar prices are a hit and miss, in my experience.

What I really miss is the double-up. Went out of fashion think 3 or 4 years ago. I was one year among the “few” chosen ones who still received the offer. But since then, nothing.

PS: forgot to mention. Due to a glitch – I guess it’s a glitch – my nectar prices & nectar points are not refreshed the same day. As a result they sometimes overlap and on average for 2 or 3 products / week I get both nectar price & nectar points. So kind of 20-30p off the nectar price. Better than nothing.

  8. Everyone seems to be angry today. Please guys don’t let the heat get to you.

  9. Loyalty pricing pisses me off so much.

If you have a product for £2 byt £1 with a loyalty card, you can either sell it for £1 and still make you profit so you’re just shafting everyone without a card, or you’re making the £1 difference by selling my data. Either way, the customer loses every time.

  10. Not having a loyalty card is one of many reasons I prefer shopping at Aldi. I just want to get the stuff I need to buy without having to check an app and compare a load of offers.

  11. My local Shitburys is notorious for this kind of thing. Awful stock management, but absolute dogshit at making the price on the shelf match the price you pay, failing to apply offers correctly etc. At one point my regular shop was circa 30 items and more often than not there would be a pricing issue with something in the basket. Incompetent thieves.

  12. Criminal paying £1.60 for 90g of basically crispy air

  13. At least they don’t do what Tesco seem to do..

put prices UP then say “Aldi Price Match” – but WHY?… the price was already lower before you Price matched!!!

  14. Yeah weird, store pricing should normally overrule nectar pricing. There’s been a pricing error on B&J at my local Sainsos where one of the flavours is £1.49.

  15. This entire post is really just a bunch of middle aged people complaining about something Stace shared on Facebook from “Quirky Girls Make The Best Friends” page.

“ITS A SCAM!” “DATA HARVESTING” “INFLATING PRICES” “DEAL WAS THE PRICE 10 YEARS AGO” (Which, do you not pay attention to anything? What do you think inflation was)

  16. I guarantee this is not them pulling a fast one on you. This is an accident.
