  1. It looks like OP posted an AMP link. These should load faster, but AMP is controversial because of [concerns over privacy and the Open Web](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmputatorBot/comments/ehrq3z/why_did_i_build_amputatorbot).

Maybe check out **the canonical page** instead: **[https://www.tovima.com/finance/greece-will-cease-to-be-most-indebted-country-by-2029-finmin/](https://www.tovima.com/finance/greece-will-cease-to-be-most-indebted-country-by-2029-finmin/)**

  2. Since the article does not say is the country to surpass Greece in debt to GDP by 2029 Italy?

  3. Greece has its problems, especially with recent protests about neglecting infrastructure. However, what this shows is that European nations can essentially avoid financial collapse by squeezing their national spending. It’s not pretty. It hurts, and it’s grim, but it should give us some confidence going forward. Honestly, well done to Greece for digging itself out of its hole in the last 10+ years.

  4. Greek people still have no future though. Rent is half our salary almost. Groceries cost almost same as in Germany.

  5. Being like the 5th most indebted country is still pretty bad. Also, it should be noted that “to vima” is a very biased government lackey of a newspaper.

  6. wasn’t it due to greedy banks giving out loads of personal credit to people who had a poor grasp of what they were getting into?

  7. I swear all these articles about how well the Greek economy is doing feels like paid propaganda. Go and live there for some time, get to know what is the real situation and you’ll know that there is no future there.

  8. As a French, we will proudly take the shift. That’s what European project is about

  9. Currently competing with Italy to take the throne. We were afraid to lose because our president is a banker, but thank god he sucks with money and apparently the government realized last year that the balance sheet has to balance so we’re still on tracks!

  10. Nooo dont cease to be most indebted country your so poor aha

  11. What is the end goal here? What happens to a country with a very high debt once it is reduced or even eliminated? What are the examples?

  12. And then the truth be told, America will be #1 🥳🥳

  13. I’m assuming they mean in Europe cause globally America is what 40 trillion dollars in debt now

  14. Greece is doing great. Absolute success story.

Trains may be crashing, corruption may reign, crime may be rising, houses may cost a number of organs, EU money may be squandered, votes may be bought, ministers and MPs and mayors may be aiding criminals, the cost of energy may be the highest in europe, inflation may be among the highest in eu, justice may rank among the worst …

BUT HEY THE DEBT WILL DROP FROM 159% TO 139% IN 5 YEARS !!!!1!

    worth it
