Russia fires barrage of drones and missiles towards Ukraine • FRANCE 24 English

Well, indeed, it was another night of worry for millions of Ukrainians who live under daily uh Russian bombing. At this time, it seems that once again uh western cities were the main target of uh those Russian bombs. Nearly 600 drones, 26 missiles, the bulk of which has been intercepted or uh rrooted by the Ukrainian air defense. However, there is damage caused in uh several western cities. Lut shifts viv those are all western cities where you will also find uh you know thousands of internally displaced people who who fled uh the fighting in the eastern part of the country thinking uh they were in relative safety in the west. It seems to be no longer the case as those cities are being more and more targeted uh by Russia. We know that at least two people died in the city of Chernipy when debris of a falling uh uh drone hit a residential building. There’s uh uh uh 15 people uh who have been injured in those tracks in those uh western regions. There were explosions here in Kief in the capital and in the northern uh northeastern part of the country has been hit with two glide bombs uh eight drones in uh its very center. So we see uh uh no uh you know we see really an increasing amount of those trucks and intensification uh in what seems to be a goal of terrorizing the population demoralizing uh Ukrainians and uh millions of people have to leave day in day out with that risk looming over their head. And Emanuel talk to us about the timing of this attack. Well, this comes uh just two just after two days uh in Rome where Ukraine and its allies met for the Ukrainian uh the Ukraine recovery conference uh which had the aim of uh showing a continuous support uh to Ukraine by its allies. This was a win for Ukraine because a number of announcements will be very welcome here in Kev. I’m thinking about this uh flagship recovery fund uh announced by Usola Lion on behalf of the European Union. Uh I’m thinking also about uh investments that could uh amount to up to 10 billion euros says the economy ministry uh here that would you know reinforce the Ukrainian economy and of course all the sides uh the side meetings and the agreements that have been reached uh with uh Ukraine’s partners with the UK with uh the US um concerning uh pro the prov the the procurement of air defense for Ukraine air defense and systems that are direly needed here uh for uh for the air force so as to uh to counter those Russian strikes which have become daily and which have intensified. side.
