No, no they are not. But they bloody well should be.
Nothing will happen to them except a fine, which they’ll likely use tax payers money for anyway. How many of us followed the rules? missing out on precious time with our family and friends. I kept my autistic child away from his best friend (his grandad/my dad) for god knows how long. The knock on effect was terrible. My dad passed away during the January 21 lockdown. He was alone for 10 days in hospital and we got a couple of hours with him at the very end – we are very grateful for the time we got at the end of his life as some families never even got that – I wish everyday I would’ve broken the rules and spent more time with my dad. I stayed away as I followed the lockdown rules to a T. These people in power who have been found guilty of breaking the rules should be sacked. They dont care about us and that’s been proven over and over.
>I understand there were discussions in government this week about bringing back Parliament asap because of potential chemical weapons use in Ukraine
>Now not possible because they’d get questions about Partygate fines
Normal country
Nah, the flashpoint of anger was three months ago. Starmer might kick a little bit back up at PMQs but we’re well beyond the peak.
It’s painfully obvious people will be outraged for 12-24 hours then we will go back to apathy.
We are somehow in the situation where almost all of the top heads in the current government have broken their own laws & been caught lying about it, it’s bonkers.
Nope.
The masses will puff out their cheeks today in pantomime outrage and then tomorrow this will literally be yesterday’s news and they’ll all vote blue again in 2024 because the media billionaires are telling them to.
All going to plan. This won’t rock the boat.
lol no. This is the Tory party. Smile and wave boys!
What a bunch of cunts we’re led by.
There is nothing worse than people that set rules not following them.
He really doesn’t engage his brain.
Betteridge.
(I don’t need any more words, but automod must be placated)
Super grim if any of them stay,
We have plenty of decent honest accomplished humans in this country, allowing grim people who are comfortable to lie to us, in positions of power is super self-defeating.
Neither of these individuals thinks honesty and integrity matters.
Even if they quit, they are still rich and have more than enough connections in politics and business to never have to worry about their futures. They are going nowhere right now, however they are hardly short of options for when they do choose to go.
>War has broken out in Europe; our television screens are dominated by the horrific images we see every day from Ukraine.
Who did or didn’t drink a glass of wine, where and with whom months and months ago in lockdowns so many of us are desperate to put behind us can, to some, seem trivial, parochial in that context.
The two things aren’t entirely unrelated. Ukraine is an extreme example of what happens when the leader of a country feels he can do what he likes, irrespective of what anyone else might think.
Of course I am not comparing a Downing Street party with invading a country.
But when you look at the damage done by forcing Brexit through and not even bothering to prepare for it, the fiasco of billions spent on PPE, the deterioration of the NHS in recent years, the pathetic attempts to mitigate the cost of living crisis, there are certainly parallels. People will be suffering and dying if something isn’t done about poverty, and these two seem happy to let it happen.
If you don’t get it now that they are total wankers, there’s no hope for you.
Problem is there’s no alternative. If there was a better candidate to step in if he resigns most people would support it. There simply isn’t. Boris and Sunak are easily the best of the current idiot squad.
And I’d rather Boris be PM from prison than let Starmer anywhere near it.
This is a Tory issue and they refuse to deal with it. Just make sure those who vote Tory are aware of this. Pretty embarrassing to just sit there and not throw these shithouses out of politics.
I love these headlines.
“Will the man who has a job no one can fire him from and whos job shields him from the consequences of his actions voluntarily resign?”
Wow super hard decision. Even if he has any sort of capability to feel shame the smart play is to remain keep the job and keep living the Teflon life.
In any first-world democracy, they would be packing up by now.
But this is Brexit Britain.
No one going to point out that awful pour Boris has done? Can’t even get that right
