Pretty sure Jaguar has had a terrible reputation for a while now. It was literally the joke in season 6 of mad men
Nobody could have predicted this.
You can’t sell cars, if you are not producing any.
I wonder how Dutch car brands are doing…
Ha jokes on you, we don’t own any car brands anymore
I like the car design, but the fashion vibe crossover wasn’t great. New EVs look like the cars I imagined in the future when I was a kid in the 90’s
The alternate colouring of that EV is actually kinda nice and probably what they should have gone with instead of that hot pink mess. Nothing would have saved that advertising campaign though, absolutely shocking lol
The sort of people who would be attracted by that ad campaign are generally in no position and have no need to buy a luxury car
That should have been obvious to everyone involved
I thought companies were supposed to make money, why do they do this shit lol? If I was a major shareholder I’d lose my shit
Jaguar don’t really have any cars in their lineup at the moment, that’s the whole point of the rebrand. It’s hardly surprising their sales ‘tanked’ if they don’t have any cars to sell…
From James Bond to Bollywood. What was the idea ?
Tbh some new BMWs are butt ugly as well 🦫
Modern stuff is so… blocky. It lacks finesse, elegance… and it’s all tied up in the manufacturing processes they use and the money they try to save. Car design is basically another example of enshittification.
Jaguar sales tanked…because they stopped selling cars

I think the main reason Jaguar sales tanked is because they don’t have any models on sale at the moment.
It’s also worth pointing out that Jaguar and Land Rover are the same business and share dealerships, factories etc
Picture I took at Goodwood the other day. Looks like something out of space
I’m fond of Jaguar, my Dad still has his 2004 S-Type and it hasn’t been mechanically unreliable. Things like parking sensors and re-gluing the ceiling carpet have needed attention. I can forgive that because I recently had a 2012 F30 BMW and that was on life support despite full dealer history and one previous owner.
If I had the money, I’d have one of these as an occasional car. I like the 7 Series & S classes, but there’s something distinct with this:
Something deeply tickles me inside when corporation bullshit flops
It’s not British anymore, it’s Indian…
Looks like a bottle of hair conditioner
At least it’s not a SUV
Very bizarre direction given that their target demographic was always red trouser men called Rupert with 7 middle names but they would famously own the same Jaaaaaaaaag for 92 years so I guess they weren’t making many sales? With the shift to SUV / larger cars for luxury (see Range Rover which is the same company) they must be figuring they’ve got the rich white people market covered so want some of that sweet autistic tech bro money who likes to pretend he’s into high fashion and “luxury” but just buys marketing campaign slop.
its not ours anymore so not our problem 😎
British ? Wasn’t Jaguar bought by indian group Tata?
Go woke go broke
Jaguar is as English as Chicken Madras
They tried to do something new but it just another nail in the coffin .
i don’t really understand what brands who live on their reputation/history/old merits do when they try to rebrand themselves?? that brand is all you have no one wants you if you’re pretending to be someone else.
Normally, this type of marketing is done for clothing brands to provoke attention and reaction to their next line of clothing! But the target is a younger, more open-minded audience! I doubt the usual Jaguar clients can be included in that target group.
This was quite the marketing story a few months back.
But given the state of Jaguar, going full ham on a rebrand was a logical step to take.
this car would look like ass in black, red, it doesnt matter this design just looks bad.
Jaguar is owned by an Indian company (Tata motors)
Can the Brits even make reliable cars nowadays?
simultaneously, it’s stupid to advertise for a demographic, unlikely to buy your cars, and also, you have to be a snowflake if gay people on advertising puts you off buying a car
insert ‘C O P Y N O T H I N G’ branding
That car is ugly holy shit
Says the EU that has to bail out VW several times and put 45% tariffs on Chinese EVs because EU car manufacturers refuse to innovate.
Slick car tho ngl
Everyone is missing the point here, Jaguar not selling any cars is vastly more financially viable than making and selling cars then having to buy them back again (Spontaneously combustible I-Pace debacle).
Change happens, designs shift, but naturally over time. They forced such a massive paradigm shift that it just fell flat and no one was interested.
When I go to car shopping I check the info on cars, not their twitter account.

Sales are bound to tank if you are NOT BUILDING OR SELLING NEW CARS UNTIL 2026.

British? Jaguar is Indian
Be livid
