North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un offered fellow dictator President Putin his “unconditional support” on his bloodbath in Ukraine, according to state media. Kim said that Pyongyang stood by “all measures taken by the Russian leadership to tackle the root cause of the Ukrainian crisis”.
The North Korean leader expressed a “firm belief that the Russian army and people would surely win victory in accomplishing the sacred cause of defending the dignity and basic interests of the country”.
On Telegram, Russia’s foreign ministry posted a video showing the two leaders shaking hands and hugging each other. The close relationship is sparking new fears that we’re on the brink of WW3 . It comes as NATO doubles its spending on defence in a move similar to the WW1 prelude.
NATO allies have agreed to commit to spending 5% of GDP on defence spending and related infrastructure by 2035, according to Sky News.
This commitment more than doubles the current 2% pledge amid escalating global tensions, particularly after Donald Trump’s strikes in Iran.
Pyongyang has sent 11,000 troops to Russia over the last year to be fed into the meat grinder, according to Western officials. But Kim only publicly admitted to it in April.
The two men signed an agreement in June last year agreeing to support each other if either country was facing “aggression”.
And yet Kim Jong-un was reportedly mad at Putin for using North Korean soldiers as “cannon fodder”. The bitter war has dragged on for three years now.
A Kremlin “insider” has said that the North Korean Supreme Leader, who has been giving soldiers to Mad Vlad, is now “disappointed” with how his military is being used.
North Korean troops are having their faces burnt off to hide their identities on the front lines of Ukraine, according to reports.
The soldiers fighting for Putin are finally finding out that life in North Korea is censored. Reports have emerged of them “gorging” on internet porn, something they don’t normally have access to.
From February 2024, North Korea started welcoming Russian tourists, coinciding with growing military ties between the two nations.
