A metal object resembling a drone fragment was found on the beach of the Eforie Sud resort in Romania. Vacationers speculate that it might be part of a drone wing.

This discovery was reported by the Romanian newspaper Adevărul. The metal item was found by a local fisherman who immediately notified the relevant authorities.

Anti-terrorism unit representatives arrived at the scene to remove the suspicious object. The Romanian Ministry of Defense was also informed about the incident. Investigations are currently underway to determine the nature and origin of this metal object.

Violations of Romanian Airspace by Russian Drones

Romania has repeatedly faced violations of its airspace by Russian drones. On September 9, 2024, the Ministry of Defense reported the discovery of drone fragments near the village of Periprava in Tulcea County, which likely belonged to Russia. The found debris was sent for examination.

Similar incidents have occurred before. For example, on January 17, 2025, in the same county bordering Ukraine, traces of a probable Russian drone strike were found. At that time, Romanian military forces scrambled two F-16 fighters in response to an air attack on the Odessa region.

On May 19, 2025, acting Romanian President Ilie Bolojan signed a law allowing the Armed Forces to shoot down drones that illegally cross the country’s airspace.

This case is not isolated, as numerous airspace violations by Russian forces have been observed since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Previously, fragments or traces of Russian targets were also found in Poland, Latvia, and Moldova.
