Please let me know as there is too much rain going on hamburg and suddenly I see this Crack on my kitchen window wall. I am tenant and what should I do as water is dripping from it

  1. 1. do not try to fix anything

    2. put a bucket or anything that can catch the dripping water under it and make sure it gets emptied

    3. Tomorrow morning (Monday) call your landlord and explain the situation and ask for a Handwerker to fix this. Or ask the landlord to take a look themselves. This may be a bigger problem – if the water is due to rain, either the outer wall is leaky, or there is a pipe in that area that is leaky. Whatever it is, as a tenant it is not your responsibility to fix this.

    4. You already got some pics, take notes with date and time and describe what happened when, so in case your landlord is a lazy one, you later have proof for a possible Mietminderung, if the situation persists. Best to follow up the phone call tomorrow morning with an e-mail where you repeat a description of the problem:

    Wie soeben telefonisch besprochen, melde ich hiermit einen Wasserschaden in meiner Wohnung (floor, number etc). DESCRIBE THE SITUATION, like Oberhalb des Küchenfensters ist ein x cm langer Riss entstanden, durch den Wasser eintritt. Ich bitte um sofortige Beseitigung des Schadens.
