“It’s difficult to lose,” Alcaraz says. “Even if it’s in the final, I just have to congratulate Jannik once again, I do it every week, you know? An unbelievable two weeks, for your team as well, a lot of fans and family for you. Just an amazing team, I’m really happy for you. Build a really good relationship off the court and great rivalry on the court, you make me improve every day.”

The second serve is an opportunity but Alcaraz’s forehand is not out of the centre and flops into the net. One break point saved. And the Spaniard cracks on the second, too, that forehand is just too long.
