No shit, cost of living is rising whilst wages are effectively falling. When there is no extra money to be spent People simply won’t spend it.
Anyone surprised ? Price of everything has gone up by a fair amount. Course people are going to have less disposable income.
I think it is maybe possibly kinda quite likely perhaps to do with the fucking energy and fuel price hikes.
Looking forward to the post-COVID recession that comes immediately after spending 100 billion to avoid a recession during COVID
Who’d have thought that actually the people ran the economy?
I’d love to spend some money but because of INCOME INEQUALITY, I don’t have any
This is where things get truly worrying as it can become and self fueling cycle where people spend less, meaning businesses have less income, meaning they reduce their workforce, meaning people habe less moneu, meaning people spend less, and so on and so on. Has happened multiple times in history.
Need that extra money to keep warm. Good bye luxuries.
We will then be blamed for the recession and for shops seeing record low profits, as if the government does not know full well why this is happening. We cannot spend money we do not have and people are going to tighten their belt like never before. With further price rises expected in October, this winter is going to look especially bleak.
No shit. Have you seen your local towns lately? Ghost towns more like it. They say “never trust a Tory”, but I trust a Tory – to wreck the economy. I’m being unfair: a small amount of people are doing really well.
I buy all my stuff online these days. In store prices are fucking extortion
And the fundamental reason why extreme wealth inequality and poverty are bad for the economy.
Wow I love living in a recession that could of easily been avoidable, what exactly was the tory plan? They love money but are too stupid to see how gutting a country and forcing millions into poverty would effect the economy
