Why are criminal barristers taking part in an “unnecessary and irresponsible strike”?

  1. So nowhere close to a strike more a work to rule kinda thing.

Honestly I’m petty as fuck I’d threaten to re ballot the workers and show him a propper strike.

  2. All those famously destitute barristers. Must be tough deciding if you can afford the boarding fees for child number 3 or will he have to be a day pupil.

  3. Good luck to them. Anyone still working in the public sector under the impression it was a cushy lifestyle left years ago. Police, fire, healthcare, education, social care and law (and plenty of others I’ve not listed) have all been cut to ribbons by ideological “austerity” measures to the point that these services only exist due to people being prepared to go well beyond expectations out of a sense of duty to society. All the while we’ve watched as our tax money is funnelled out of the country into tax havens by the millions. Why not remind the policymakers who bang on about free market forces what they’ve actually paid for?
